Note
This procedure for the Receiver
Dryer and Desiccant (Add-On) (Remove and Replace) is to be used when, while working
on the refrigerant system where the refrigerant is recovered, it is found that the
receiver dryer and desiccant need to be replaced. Add correction code 18202032 as a
separate correction within the same activity to the Service Visit.
Equipment:
- 1081547-00-B - SMALL SLIDE HAMMER
- 1145232-00-A - TOOL, DESSICANT FILTER, MODEL 3
Remove
- Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
- Partially lift the vehicle.

Remove the screw that
attaches the fascia to the RH front fender.

Remove the bolt and push
clips (x2) that attach the RH side of the fascia the vehicle.

Clean the area around the
cap before removal.
WarningWear the Face Shield throughout the entire process to protect against foreign objects flying out under pressure.
- Remove the cap from the condenser.

Use a pick tool to remove the filter screen from the condenser.

Use long nose piers to remove the desiccant bag.
Install

Install a new desiccant bag into the condenser.

Install the new filter and cap into the condenser.
10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft) -
Install the bolt and push
clips (x2) that attach the RH side of the fascia the vehicle.
3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft) -
Install the screw that attaches the RH side of the fascia to the
fender.
1.5 Nm (1.1 lbs-ft)
