Harnesses - Main Lower Dash and Front Trunk (RHD) (RWD) (Remove and Replace)

Note
Because the time to complete this
procedure is approximately 12 hours, the procedure has been divided into 4 parts:

Remove Main Lower Dash Harness
-
Set up A/C machine and perform hose
flush.
NoteTouch time only.
-
Set and align vehicle close and
straight to the hoist.
NoteSet jack mode if equipped with air suspension.
-
Position wheel chocks at LH rear
wheel.
-
Place vehicle into "Tow Mode".
NoteVia Controls > Settings > Service and Reset.
-
Open hood.
NoteUsing MCU touchscreen > Controls > Frunk Trunk.
-
Remove rear underhood apron.
Note8x clips.
-
Remove RH underhood apron.
Note9x clips.
-
Remove LH underhood apron.
Note9x clips.
-
Release drainage hoses from HEPA
filter inlet duct.
Note2x hoses.
-
Remove clips securing HEPA filter
inlet duct to cowl panel.
Note3x push clips.
-
Remove HEPA filter inlet duct.
Note2x clips on HEPA filter.
-
Remove HEPA filter outlet duct from
vehicle.
NoteLift up, pull towards front of vehicle, then rotate clockwise.
- Open liftgate.
- Lower all 4 windows.
- Open all four doors.
- Remove all floor mats.
- Recover the A/C refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).

Remove RH IP side cover.
Note3x clips, 1x connector.

Remove RH A-pillar middle trim.
-
Remove RH lower A-pillar trim.
Note4x clips, The number of clips securing the trim varies depending on vehicle production date, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing sill trim.
-
Connect hoses to vehicle and perform
A/C recovery.
Note(Touch time only) Total recovery times: 18:36, 14:59, 13:57 Ensure quick connects are fully engaged, turn the connector dials clockwise to fully connect to A/C service ports.

Remove RH side lower IP trim.
Note1x screw, T20, 2 Nm, 9x clips.
-
Remove cover for RH A Pillar trim
fastener.
NoteTake care not to damage the A pillar trim.
-
Remove fastener securing the RH A
Pillar trim to the A Pillar.
Note1x screw, 7mm, 2 Nm, 1x washer.
-
Remove the RH A Pillar trim.
Note2x locating tabs, 2x clips, locating tabs are secured to the mesh defrost grill assembly.
-
Remove the lower binnacle cover from
the IP area of the vehicle.
Note4x clips.
-
Remove screws securing top pad at
binnacle area.
Note2x screws, T20, 1 Nm.
-
Remove screw securing RH IP side of
top pad.
Note1x screw, T20, 2 Nm.
-
Move steering wheel fully outward and
down.
NoteDon"t move outward too much otherwise driver seat may not be easily removed.
-
Remove LH IP side cover.
Note4x clips, 1x connector.
-
Remove LH middle A-pillar trim.
Note2x clips.
-
Remove LH lower A-pillar trim.
Note4x clips, The number of clips securing the trim varies depending on vehicle production date, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing sill trim.

Release cover for LH A pillar trim
fastener.
NoteTake care not to damage the A pillar trim.
-
Remove fastener securing the A pillar
trim to the A pillar.
Note1x screw, 7mm, 2 Nm, 1x washer.
-
Remove the LH A pillar trim.
Note2x locating tabs, 2x clips, locating tabs are secured to the mesh defrost grill assembly.
-
Open glovebox.
-
Remove LH lower IP trim
assembly.
-
Remove the lower glove box trim.
-
Remove the glove box screws.
Note6x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm.
-
Remove glove box from vehicle and
disconnect the connections from the back of the glove box.
Note3x connectors.
-
Remove LH footwell cover.
Note2x clips, 1x connector.
-
Remove screw securing LH top pad to IP
carrier.
Note1x screw, T20, 1 Nm.
-
Cover the aluminum strip on the top
pad and MCU bezel with tape protection.
-
Release the top pad using the airbag
tools.
NoteNote: Lifting with an inflatable wedge is recommended to reduce the risk of bending the top pad. Place the inflatable wedge above the vent outlet at the left and right side of the touchscreen..

Remove screws securing LH side
instrument panel finisher assembly to the IP carrier.
Note2x screws, T20, 2 Nm.
-
Release the clips for the LH IP
finisher and remove from vehicle.
Note4x clips.
-
Release clips securing steering gap
hider to IC bezel.
Note2x clips.
-
Remove screws securing instrument
cluster bezel to IP carrier and remove bezel.
Note4x screws, T20, 2 Nm.
-
Remove screws securing RH inner IP
finisher with vent to IP carrier.
Note2x screws, T20, 2 Nm.
-
Release clips securing RH inner IP
finisher with vent to the IP carrier and remove from vehicle.
Note3x clips.
-
Remove screws securing RH outer IP
finisher to the IP carrier.
Note3x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm.
-
Remove RH outer IP finisher from IP
carrier.
Note2x clips.
-
Move RH front seat fully
forward.
-
Remove the RH seat rear track
covers.
Note2x covers.
-
Remove and discard bolts securing both
RH seat tracks to the floor panel.
Note1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard bolts after removal.
-
Power the RH seat fully rearward for
access.
-
Remove the RH front seat front track
covers.
Note2x covers.
-
Remove and discard bolts securing both
RH seat tracks to the floor panel.
Note1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard bolts after removal.
-
Adjust the position of the RH seat for
easy removal.
NoteMiddle of track, most upright position, seat fully up off the floor.
-
Move LH front seat forward.
-
Remove the LH front seat rear track
covers.
Note2x covers.
-
Remove bolts securing rear of LH front
seat tracks to the floor panel.
Note1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Move LH front seat backward.
-
Remove LH front seat front track
covers.
Note2x covers.
-
Remove and discard bolts securing both
LH seat tracks to the floor panel.
Note1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Adjust the position of the LH seat for
easy removal.
NoteMiddle of track, most upright position, seat fully up off the floor.
-
Power down vehicle using MCU.
NoteControls > E-brake and Power Off > Power off.
-
Disconnect 12V negative terminal and
First Responder Loop.
Note1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components.

Disconnect the LH seat
connectors.
Note3x connectors.

Remove LH front seat from
vehicle.
NoteRecommend assistance, Use caution to not damage other components.

Disconnect the RH seat
connectors.
Note3x connectors.

Remove RH front seat from
vehicle.
NoteRecommend assistance, Use caution to not damage other components.

Open rear cup holder.
-
Remove rear cup holder trim
panel.
Note3x tabs, Slide panel straight up to remove.
-
Remove RH center console wrapped
panel.
Note22x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips.
-
Remove LH center console wrapped
panel.
Note22x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips.
-
Remove rear center console vent.
Note2x connectors, 4x tabs, Pull vent straight out, gently release locking tabs for USB connectors and slide out.
-
Close cup holder.
-
Remove rear panel from console.
Note6x clips, 3x connectors.
-
Remove bolts securing rear of console
to body.
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm.
-
Remove screw securing front of console
to IP carrier.
Note1x screw, T20, 2 Nm.
-
Open console sliding door.
-
Remove LH side console closeout
panel.
Note6x clips, Pull side panel back and slide closeout panel down behind side panel.
-
Remove bolt securing LH front of
console to IP.
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 2.5 Nm.
-
Remove RH side console closeout
panel.
Note5x clips.
-
Remove bolt securing RH front of
console to IP.
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 2.5 Nm.
-
Disconnect 2 USB connectors and
release from console trim.
Note2x connectors, 2x fir tree clips, RH front of console.
-
Release clip securing connector and
disconnect 12V harness connector.
Note1x connector, 1x clip, RH front of console, on backside of panel.
-
Remove cup holder inserts.
Note4x inserts, If equipped.
-
Remove console floor panel.
-
Remove bolts securing middle of
console to body.
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm.
-
Lift rear of console up, pull
backwards, and lift up and remove from vehicle.
NoteRecommend assistance.
-
Put on ESD wrist strap.
-
Connect ESD wrist strap to vehicle
ground.
-
Release ground strap from top of
MCU.
-
Remove the MCU mounting screws.
Note4x screws, T25, 4.5 Nm.
-
Tilt the MCU out from the IP carrier
at the top in order to access connectors.
NoteCaution: Do not pull on harnesses as it can damage the connectors.
-
Disconnect harness connectors to
MCU.
Note17x connectors, recommend assistance.
-
Prepare ESD kit.
NoteRefer to TN-14-92-003, "Electrostatic Discharge Tool". CAUTION: Improper use of ESD kit can result in damage to MCU and/or touchscreen. CAUTION: Make sure that ESD foam container is free of debris so that touchscreen is not damaged in a later step..
-
Place an ESD foam container on the
right side of the ESD mat.
-
Gently place the MCU on the ESD foam
container with the touchscreen facing down.
NoteCAUTION: To avoid damaging components inside the MCU, the ESD wrist strap must be grounded and worn throughout this procedure until instructed to remove it..
-
Remove fasteners securing instrument
cluster to IP carrier.
Note4x screws, T20, 2 Nm.
-
Disconnect the electrical connectors
from the rear of the instrument cluster and remove from IP carrier.
Note3x connectors, tilt the IC away from the IP carrier to access connections, Take care not to put excessive strain on the wiring and connectors to the IC (1x chime connector pulls straight out, 1x flip lock type connector, 1x coaxial connector, release tab is on the underside of the connector), After removal place the IC on ESD safe surface.
-
Disconnect connectors from RH side of
DAS ECU.
Note7x connectors, DAS 2.0 has 4x connectors.
-
Remove fasteners securing the ECU to
the cross car beam.
Note4x nuts, 8mm, 3 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Disconnect connectors from LH side of
DAS ECU and remove from vehicle.
Note7x connectors, DAS 2.5 has 6x connectors.
-
Disconnect ESD wrist strap from
vehicle ground.
-
Remove the ESD wrist strap.
-
Remove the passenger airbag mounting
bolts.
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm.
-
Disconnect passenger airbag
connectors.
Note2x connectors, Release locking tab.
-
Release top pad at leading edge, from
RH outer finisher to inner finisher.
Note8x clips.
-
Release the LH side of the top pad
working from right to left.
Note9x clips, Use caution to not crease aluminum trim when lifting top pad.
-
Release remaining clips, remove top
pad from vehicle, and place onto protective surface.
Note6x clips, Recommend assistance.
-
Remove defrost mesh grille
assembly.
Note10x clips.
-
Unbolt the screws securing airbag to
steering wheel.
Note2x screws, T25, 7 Nm, The screws will remain inside the steering wheel, If required rotate the steering wheel to gain access to screws, Afterwards return steering wheel to straight and center position.
-
Carefully release the driver's airbag
from the steering wheel assembly and disconnect the airbag and steering wheel
controls.
Note3x connectors.
-
Remove bolt that secures the steering
wheel to the column.
Note1x patch bolt, 10mm allen, 80 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Position the wheels straight ahead and
mark the steering wheel relative position to the column.
- Remove steering wheel.
-
Tape the clockspring cassette to
prevent rotation.
NoteDo not rotate the clockspring.
-
Rock SCCM back and forth to release
from column.
-
Release harness connector from SCCM
and remove SCCM.
Note1x connector, Remove black locking tab then depress connector release tab to release connector, Locking tab is one time use discard after removal.
-
Remove RH footwell cover.
Note2x clips, 1x connector.
-
Disconnect harness connectors for
steering column motors.
Note2x connectors.
-
Mark the steering column relative
position to the lower shaft joint.
-
Remove bolt securing lower shaft to
steering column.
Note1x bolt, 13mm, 30 Nm.
-
Release steering column from lower
shaft.
NoteSlide joint down lower shaft.
-
Remove fasteners securing steering
column to cross car beam.
Note2x bolts, 13mm, 17 Nm, 2x nuts, 13mm, 30 Nm.
-
Remove steering column from
vehicle.
-
Remove the fasteners securing the IP
carrier to the dash frame.
Note15x screws, T20, 2 Nm.
-
Pull the IP carrier forward for better
access for speaker and edge clip removal.
NoteTake care to avoid stressing the connectors to the dash speakers and avoid damaging components in the process of moving the IP carrier forward for better access to edge clips and connections.
-
Remove RH side dash speaker.
Note2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x connector.
-
Remove center dash speaker.
Note2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x connector.
-
Remove LH dash speaker.
Note2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x connector.
-
Remove all edge clips secured to the
IP carrier.
Note2x clips LH and RH RKE, 2x clips tweeter harness, 1x clip steering column air bag harness, 1x clip MCU harness.
-
Remove IP carrier from vehicle.
NoteRecommend assistance, Lift up air duct from HVAC assembly, 1x center dash speaker tape to duct.
-
Remove A/C lines from vehicle.
NotePress clear lines once lines have been removed.
-
Disconnect the cross car beam harness
connectors at the RH lower A pillar.
Note7x connectors, Only release connectors that run to the harness on the cross car beam.
-
Remove LH upper A-pillar harness
connectors from body and disconnect.
Note3x connectors, 3x clips.
-
Remove cross car beam harness
connectors at lower LH lower A pillar.
Note7x connectors, Only release connectors that run to the harness on the cross car beam.
-
Remove the bolts securing the HVAC
assembly and body to the cross car beam.
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm.
-
Remove bolts securing cross car beam
to body.
Note7x bolts, 13mm, 27 Nm.
-
Remove cross car beam from
vehicle.
NoteRecommend assistance, Exercise caution when removing the cross car beam, the brake switch is attached to the cross car beam and is susceptible to failure.
-
Remove the LH footwell harness
cover.
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm.
-
Release LH rear sill panel to gain
access to lower B-pillar trim fastener.
Note2x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips.
-
Remove fasteners securing LH lower
B-pillar trim.
Note2x screws, T25, 2 Nm.
-
Remove LH lower B-pillar trim.
Note6x plastic clips to body, 2x metal clips to upper B-pillar, Replace any damaged or missing clips, Lift the trim to clear the seat and pre-tensioner.
-
Release LH upper B-pillar trim from
body and allow to hang freely.
Note2x metal clips to body, 1x locating tab to headliner, Replace any damaged or missing clips.
-
Release RH rear sill panel to gain
access to lower B pillar trim fastener.
Note2x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips.
-
Remove fasteners securing RH lower
B-pillar trim.
Note2x screws, T25, 2 Nm.
-
Remove RH lower B-pillar trim.
Note6x plastic clips to body, 2x metal clips to upper B-pillar, Replace any damaged or missing clips.
-
Remove rear seat bottom cushion.
Note2x clips, 7x connectors, Number of connectors may vary based on configuration, Release the leading edge of the seat on either side.
-
Remove NVH padding from underneath 2nd
row seat cushion.
NoteIf equipped .
-
Remove bolts securing rear cushion
seat base frame.
Note7x bolts, 11mm, 26 Nm.
-
Lift up and support seat bottom
frame.
NoteRelease harness clips if necessary.
-
Remove main carpet from vehicle.
Note3x fir tree clips.
-
Remove parcel shelf.
-
Fold both 2nd row seatbacks
down.
Note2x seat release levers, Protect seat back from potential damage from seat frame by placing a fender cover between the seat backs and frame.
-
Remove LH rear C-pillar trim.
Note1x screw, T25, 3 Nm, 4x clips.
-
Remove the LH rear mid C-pillar
trim.
Note4x clips.
-
Remove LH upper C pillar trim.
Note3x clips.
-
Remove the LH trunk side trim
clip.
Note1x fir tree clip.
-
Pull on the LH trunk side trim to
expose the LH bolster clip.
-
Remove the LH side rear seat bolster
from the vehicle.
Note1x clip, Release clip from the rear, Do not pull the bolster because of risk of bending.
-
Separate LH C-pillar mid from LH
C-pillar lower.
Note4x clips, Use caution to not damage any components with C-pillar mid.
-
Remove the mounting hardware for the
LH lower C-pillar.
Note2x push clips.
-
Use the air bag tool to push the LH
lower C-pillar away from the body of the vehicle.
-
Remove LH lower C-pillar trim.
Note4x clips.
-
Remove trunk load floor.
-
Remove trunk sill panel.
Note4x clips, 4x guides.
-
Remove trunk floor carpet.
Note4x fir tree clips.
-
Remove LH trunk side garnish
trim.
Note2x clips, 1x guide.
-
Remove rear trunk LH side trim
panel.
Note1x connector.
-
Remove RH rear C-pillar trim.
Note1x screw, T25, 3 Nm, 4x clips.
-
Remove RH upper C-pillar trim.
Note4x clips.
-
Release rear headliner clips and
partially lower headliner.
NoteThis allows for access to curtain air bag connector in later step. Take care not to damage other components. Recommend Assistance.
-
Remove the wheel chocks, push the
vehicle in position to be lifted by hoist, then reinstall wheel chocks.
NoteRecommend assistance, Ensure doors are clear of the lift posts before pushing forward, Flip the door latches to closed position to prevent doors from latching while vehicle is powered down.

Position lift posts under vehicle lift
points.
- Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks.
-
Remove clips securing LH shear plate
to wheel fairing.
Note2x push clips.
-
Remove LH shear plate.
Note1x nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm, 3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, Discard nyloc nut after removal.
-
Remove clips securing RH shear plate
to wheel fairing.
Note2x push clips.
-
Remove RH shear plate.
Note1x nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm, 3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, Discard nyloc nut after removal.

Remove clips securing mid aero shield
to vehicle.
Note7x push clips.
-
Remove bolts securing mid aero shield
to vehicle.
Note7x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm.

Remove mid aero shield from
vehicle.
-
Remove ski side covers on RH
side.
Note14x clips, 3x covers.
-
Remove ski side covers on LH
side.
Note14x clips, 3x covers.
-
Remove front lower bash plate
extrusion.
Note2x bolts, T30, 16 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Remove four center bolts securing HV
battery.
Note4x patch bolts, E12, 38 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Position battery table beneath
vehicle.
-
Lower vehicle to table.
NoteRecommend assistance, Align table to vehicle and raise casters to level table if necessary.
-
Remove remaining eight center bolts
securing HV battery.
Note8x patch bolts, E12, 38 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Remove front four HV battery
bolts.
Note4x patch bolts, 13mm, 30 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Remove 21mm bolts securing front of HV
battery.
Note2x bolts, 21mm, 115 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Remove LH rocker bolts.
Note8x patch bolts, 13mm, 55 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Remove RH rocker bolts.
Note8x patch bolts, 13mm, 55 Nm, Discard after removal.
-
Raise vehicle off of HV battery.
-
Move battery away from vehicle.
- Remove all items from pockets and ensure not wearing metal items.
-
Inspect HV insulating gloves.
NoteCheck gloves for damage prior to use, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003, for information on inspecting HV gloves.
-
Put on HV insulating gloves and
leather over gloves.
-
Check voltage on HV rapid mate.
NoteB+ to ground, B- to ground, and B+ to B-, If any voltage reading is more than 10V, the pack contactors are not fully opened, Contact Engineering for support.
-
Cover the high voltage connector with
a HV Rapid Mate cover, and the low voltage connector with a LV Rapid Mate cover.
NoteIf these covers are not available, cover the Rapid Mate connectors with masking tape to prevent debris from falling in.
-
Remove bolts and Rear DU HV cable
clips from HV battery LV logic connector bracket.
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm.
-
Release the HV battery LV logic
connector cover from bracket.
Note6x tabs, 1x edge clip.
-
Remove the HV battery LV Logic
connectors from bracket.
Note2x tabs, Index which connector goes to which side of the connector for reference on installation.
-
Push the logic harness through the
body to the rear seat area.
- Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground.
-
Roll the vehicle back away from the
lift posts and install wheel chocks.
NoteRecommend assistance, Done so doors can be fully opened to allow more room to work.
-
Remove the second row RKE antenna from
under the rubber NVH mat and feed out under the second row seat frame.
Note2x dual lock pads, This aids in disconnecting the RKE antennae.
-
Disconnect the second row RKE
antenna.
Note1x connector.
-
Release the harness barrel clip
between the charger and the body closes to the connector on the RH side of the vehicle
behind the charger.
Note1x barrel clip.
-
Disconnect the connector between the
charger and the body.
Note1x connector.
-
Release the harness barrel clip
between the charger and the body.
Note1x barrel clip.
-
Release the harness barrel clip below
the ground cable to the charger.
Note1x barrel clip.
-
Release the harness barrel clip
between the coolant hoses.
Note1x barrel clip.
-
Release the barrel clips near the
coolant pump.
Note2x barrel clips.
-
Disconnect the connector at the
coolant pump.
Note1x connector.
-
Feed the harness out towards the
second row door sill.
NoteGently lift up on HV cables and coolant hoses to feed the harness out, It is also possible to move the coolant pump and surrounding foam to create room for the rubber grommet and connectors to pass by for removal.

Remove ground bolt at C-pillar.
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm.
-
Disconnect the LH curtain
airbag.
Note2x clips, 1x locking airbag connector, Lower the LH rear corner of the headliner for access, Take care not to crease the headliner.
-
Disconnect LH tail light
connector.
Note1x connector.
-
Disconnect charge port
connector.
Note1x connector.
-
Release harness clips in LH trunk area
move harness to the C pillar area for further removal.
Note6x clips, Harness clips share studs with and are installed below the barrel clips for the HV harness..
-
Release harness clips at C pillar
under HV harness clips.
Note2x clips, Harness clips share studs with and are installed below the barrel clips for the HV harness.
-
Release the harness connector bracket
from the C pillar.
Note2x clips.
-
Disconnect rear harness connectors
from main harness at C pillar connector carrier.
Note4x connectors.
-
Remove latch closeout at LH c
pillar.
-
Disconnect LH rear door latch
connector.
Note1x connector, slide connector lock upwards to release.
-
Disconnect the C pillar side impact
sensor.
Note1x connector.
-
Release the harness clips at the C
pillar area.
Note4x clips.
-
Disconnect side impact sensor at B
pillar.
Note1x connector.
-
Disconnect LH seatbelt
pretensioner.
Note2x connectors, Release locking tab.
-
Release harness clips at B
pillar.
Note3x clips.
-
Remove LH exterior B-pillar
finisher.
Note2x tabs.
-
Remove screws securing LH B-pillar
applique.
Note2x bolts, T25, 4 Nm.
-
Release B-pillar seals from applique
and body along length of applique.
-
Pry LH applique away from body
starting at the bottom.
Note2 strips of double-sided tape securing applique to body.
-
Pull down to release LH applique from
upper clips.
NoteUse caution as camera harness does not have much slack.
-
Hold LH applique away from body and
disconnect camera harness connector, then remove applique.
Note1x connector.
-
Release the harness clips at the B
pillar.
Note5x clips.
-
Disconnect the connector tucked into
the B pillar opening.
Note1x connector.
-

from the seat belt pretensioner.

Remove fasteners securing TXV to
evaporator.
Note2x bolts, T30, 6 Nm, Inspect o-rings for damage if flushing, Discard o-rings and replace on install.

Disconnect A/C hoses and TXV from HVAC
unit.
NoteGently pull the lines away from the bulkhead/ HVAC box, be sure to retain the O-rings at the TXV.

Disconnect thermal controller
connectors.
Note4 connectors. Remove the THC module .

Disconnect HVAC blower assembly and
RKE harness connectors and release harness clip.
Note2x connectors, 1x edge clip.
-
Remove fasteners securing HVAC
assembly to the body.
Note5x nuts, 10mm, 6 Nm, 2x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm.

Release HVAC drain hose from HVAC
assembly.
Note1x hose connection, Place a shop towel underneath the drain hose prior to disconnecting.

Disconnect sensor from RH lower air
duct on HVAC assembly.
Note1x connector.

Remove the fasteners securing the RH
lower air duct to the HVAC assembly.
Note2x screws, PH2, 1 Nm.

Remove the RH lower air duct from the
HVAC assembly.
NoteLower left slide of duct and slide out to the left to release from HVAC assembly.

Remove the fasteners securing the HVAC
assembly cross brace.
Note2x screws, PH2, 1 Nm.

Remove the HVAC assembly cross
brace.
NoteGently push brace to the left to release from HVAC box on RH side, Pull the brace towards the rear for the vehicle then side out to the right to release from HVAC assembly.

Remove fasteners securing the PTC
heater to the HVAC assembly.
Note3x screws, PH2, 1 Nm.

Remove the PTC heater from the HVAC
assembly.
NoteSlide PTC heater out to the left while taking care not to strain the HV cables, Gently move the PTC heater and HV cables behind the HVAC assembly so it can be removed from the vehicle, Take necessary measures to protect the PTC heater and its cables so it can be easily moved out of the way during main body harness replacement as needed.

Remove the HVAC assembly from the
vehicle.

Remove the fasteners securing the main
harness connector carrier in the LH footwell.
Note3x bolts, 10mm, 2 Nm.

Release the barrel clips securing the
main harness in the LH side of the bulkhead.
Note4x barrel clips.

Disconnect front harness connectors
and release clips from the main harness connector carrier.
Note4x connectors, 2x clips, The blue connector cap is to be transferred to the connector carrier on the new harness.

Remove the fasteners securing the Body
Control Module (BCM) to the Bulkhead.
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm.
-
Remove the dead pedal from the
bulkhead.
Note2x nuts, 13mm, 5 Nm.

Release connectors from the BCM.
Note9x connnectors, The BCM may need to be tilted and moved into different postitons in order to access and disconnect all connectors.

Remove BCM bracket with BCM.
NoteSlide the BCM and bracket assembly out to the LH footwell area, The fitment between the BCM bracket, the HVAC drain hose, wiring harnesses, and cross car beam assembly is tight, The BCM with bracket will need to be moved at different angles to clear the surrounding components.

Disconnect the Passive Safety
Restraint Control Module (PRSCM).
Note2x connectors, Release connector lock tabs and flip connector lever to release.

Release the harness clips at the PRSCM
mounting bracket.
Note2x fir tree clips.

Release harness clips on RH side of
the bulkhead.
Note3x square clip, 1x fir tree clip, Harness clips share studs with and are installed below the barrel clips for the front trunk harness.

Disconnect the Brake switch.

Disconnect the main harness connectors
at the upper A pillar.

Remove the RH A pillar ground

Disconnect main harness connectors
from the RH A pillar cabin fuse box.

Release the lower RH A pillar
Connector bracket from the Cabin fuse box.
Note2x tabs, slide the bracket towards the rear of the vehicle to release.

Disconnect harness connectors from
connector carrier at lower RH A pillar.
Note3x connectors for LH main body harness, 3x connectors for front trunk harness.

Release the front trunk connectors
from the RH lower A pillar connector carrier.
Note5x connectors, Release locking tabs and pull connectors straight out of the carrier, Locking tab to carrier is on the inboard side of the connector carrier.

Remove the main lower dash harness
from the vehicle.
NoteTake care not to damage surrounding components while removing the harness from the vehicle, This is a good time to compare to the new harness provided to ensure parts received are compatible with the vehicle.
Remove Front Trunk Harness

Position lift posts under vehicle lift
points.

Raise and support vehicle.
NoteSet air suspension to "Jack Mode" if equipped.

Loosen RH front wheel.

Remove the bolts securing the bash
plate stamping and skid plate to the front subframe skid plate.

Remove fastener securing RH side of

Pass the logic connector by the HV
cables up the bulkhead into the cavity near the RH shock tower for harness
removal.
Note1x harness clip to brake line, Tilt the front junction box away from the bulkhead to make room for the connector.

Disconnect the logic connector from
the DCDC converter.
Note1x connector, Tilt front junction box away from bulkhead to make room for connector to be disconnected.

Release the harness and connector edge
clip from the bottom of the electric battery heater above the DCDC converter, and
disconnect the connector to the electric battery heater.

Release the front harness ground
connection from the bottom of the E-fuse assembly.
Note1x patch bolt, T25, 4 Nm, Discard bolt after removal.

Pass DCDC logic connector, electric
battery heater connector, and E-fuse ground cable up the bulkhead behind front junction
box towards the top of the bulkhead for harness removal.
- Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground.

Disconnect light and release switch
connectors and remove underhood storage carpet.

Disconnect the front trunk harness
from the in-cabin fuse box.

Release the Front Harness Clips from
the Bulkhead near the Windshield.

Push the front trunk harness grommet
through the bulkhead and feed out harness into the front of the vehicle.

Install Front Trunk Harness

Place new front trunk harness into the
front of the vehicle.
-
Route cabin portion of front trunk
harness through opening in bulkhead and seat sealing grommet.
NoteThe sealing grommet is marked for orientation, Ensure the arrow is pointing up.
-
Remove the plastic cover in the in
cabin portion of the Front Harness, then route and secure harness clips to RH side of
the Bulkhead.

Make connections at the Air Suspension
Control Module.

Secure the Front Harness Ground
connection at the In-Cabin Fuse Box.
Note1x nut, 10mm, 6 Nm.

Connect the Front Harness connector at

Un-bundle RH portion of new front
trunk harness and route against bulkhead down RH side behind HV cables that run to the
FJB.

Remove the connector carrier for FEM
connections from the new harness.
Notethis will aid in creating room for routing the harness up to the RH Body Beam.

Apply tape to the secure connector
lock for the Fuse Box connector from the RH leg of the harness.
NoteThe connector will need to be passed through a tight between the A/C lines and taping the lock in place will assist in the later step.

Route right side of front trunk
harness under shock tower cross member and out towards front of RH body beam.
NoteWorking from right front fender well, pass the harness through the opening under shock tower cross member, If needed raise or lower the vehicle on the lift to work from above and in the fender well to ease in routing harness.

Secure harness clips near Brake
Booster.

right of Brake Booster and on body seam in fender well.

Route FJB logic connector down

Route 2 harness legs for steering gear
and secure to coolant hose below.

Route leg of harness with connectors
for headlamp, coolant 3 way valve, fan controller, and wheel speed sensor to RH outer
side of RH body beam.
Note4x connectors, Coolant 3 way valve and RH fan controller connectors are routed down to the underside of vehicle while the others remain above body beam for installation.

Locate the RH harness ground
connections from the separate harness legs and route towards grounding points on RH
Shock Tower.

NoteStarting from the Bulkhead with the largest connector which is for the ABS control unit, route the harness under the coolant lines then along the inner side of the LH Shock Tower under the Shock Tower Support Cross Member then down the LH Body Beam, Be sure to route harness behind brake lines below Battery Beam, The connector for the ABS Control unit is the largest, recommend passing this connector through the opening between the brake lines and LH Body Beam first while routing harness, then continuing with the more forward sections of the harness until the harness fir tree clips can be seen near their locating holes under the Shock Tower Cross Member.

Bring the cross car beam into the
vehicle for installation.

cross car beam to the body.

connectors at the LH Lower A pillar area.

Connect steering column to lower
steering shaft joint.
NoteSlide joint up onto lower shaft, Ensure that the previously indexed paint marks align between the lower steering column and shaft joint.

Install bolt securing lower shaft to
steering column.
Note1x bolt, 13mm, 30 Nm.

Connect harness connectors for
steering column motors.
Note2x connectors.

Install RH footwell cover.
Note2x clips, 1x connector.

Connect harness to steering column
control module.
Note1x connector, Install new retaining clip.

Slide steering column control module
over upper steering column.
NoteGently jiggle the SCCM while pressing it onto the column if needed.

Remove tape previously applied to the
clockspring.
NoteDo not rotate the clockspring.

Install steering wheel.
NoteEnsure the position of the steering wheel matches the index marks previously made on the column and the wheel.

Install bolt securing steering wheel
to steering column.
Note1x patch bolt, 10mm allen, 80 Nm, Install new patch bolt.

Connect the drivers front airbag and
steering wheel control connectors.

Place airbag into steering
wheel.

Install screws securing airbag to
steering wheel.

Put on ESD wrist strap.

Connect ESD wrist strap to vehicle
ground.

Connect Instrument cluster and place
IC into position for installation.
Note3x connectors, 2x alignment dowels.

Install the fasteners that secure the
instrument cluster to the IP carrier.
Note4x screws, T20, 2 Nm.

Position MCU into vehicle for
installation.

Connect harness connectors to
MCU.

Install MCU into IP carrier.
NoteIf neccesary, gently lift IP top pad to clear the MCU ground tab and ensure the MCU seats fully back into the IP carrier.

Install LH side IP finisher assembly
and fasteners.
Note2x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 6x clips.

Install RH inner IP finisher.

Install screws securing RH inner IP

Install RH outer IP finisher.

Install IC bezel and fasteners to the
IP carrier.

Install clips securing steering column
gap hider to IC bezel.

Install the defrost mesh grille to IP
carrier.

Set top pad in place and connect
ground strap.

Remove protective tape from aluminum

Position DAS ECU for installation and
secure LH side ECU connectors.

Install fasteners securing Autopilot
ECU.
Note4x nuts, 8mm, 5 Nm, Install new nuts.

Connect RH side DAS ECU
connectors.
Note7x connectors, DAS 2.0 has 4x connectors, Connector "A" must be plugged in before connector "B" when reinstalling DAS ECU.

Disconnect ESD wrist strap from
vehicle ground.

Remove ESD wrist strap.

Install LH footwell cover.
Note2x tabs, 2x clips, 1x connector, Align the tabs on the footwell cover into the slots in the footwell bracket cover before securing the clips.

Install glove box into vehicle.
Note3x connectors, 6x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm.

Install screws securing top pad at
binnacle area.
Note2x screws, T20, 1 Nm.

Install lower binnacle cover.
Note4x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips.

Install the upper glove box trim into
the vehicle.
Note13x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to installation.

Close glove box.

Install the lower glove box trim
panel.

Check and ensure IP top pad clips are
fully seated into the IP carrier.

Install screw that secures LH side of
top pad.

Install LH upper A pillar trim.
Note1x screw with washer, 7mm, 2 Nm, 1x connector, 2x locating tabs, 1x clip, Reinstall A-pillar fastener trim cover after torquing the 7mm fastener.

Install screw securing RH side of top
pad.
Note1x screw, T20, 1 Nm.

Install RH upper A pillar trim.
Note1x screw with washer, 7mm, 2 Nm, 1x connector, 2x locating tabs, 1x clip, Reinstall A-pillar fastener trim cover after torquing the 7mm fastener.

Set up the tripod so that the bottom
of the target is 3 ft (90 cm) from the ground.

Place the target against the front
fascia and centered on the T badge.
NoteThis is "Location 1" in the Toolbox Panel.
- Measure 90 cm back from the rear tripod leg and place marker on ground. This will be second location verification..

Ensure that the target is on flat
ground by examining the bubble level on the back of the target.

Apply a piece of red tape on the
target 130cm from the ground.
- Connect laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
