Brake Caliper - Rear - Park Brake - LH (Remove and Replace)

Note
If the event of a stuck caliper or motor failure, refer to one of these
procedures to release the caliper:

Note
Park brake calipers are available with and without new park brake pads.
Removal
- Put the vehicle into Tow mode.
- Remove the LH rear wheel (refer to procedure).
- If the new caliper does not have brake pads: Remove the brake pads from the caliper (refer to procedure).

Disconnect the electric parking brake caliper harness connector.

Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that secure the caliper to the knuckle (torque
57 Nm).
- Remove the parking brake caliper.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
- Use a M10 x 1.5 tap to clean the mounting holes in the knuckle.
- Clean the affected areas before installation.
- Apply an even layer of Silaramic lubricant (1063021-00-A) to the caliper pad slides. Remove any excess lubricant.
- After connecting the electric parking brake caliper harness, wrap the connector seam with electrical tape to prevent dirt ingress.
- Burnish the parking brake pads. See Brake Pads - Park Brake - Burnishing.
