Harness - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 17100102 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Removal

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the window.
  2. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove one side of the of the felt tape, and then remove the old clips (x9) from the LH front door panel.

    Clips must be replaced every time the door panel is removed.
  4. Connect the window switch tool to the LH front door harness.
  5. Fully raise the LH front window.
  6. Remove the window switch tool from the LH front door harness.
  7. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  8. Disconnect the door harness connector to the door handle controller.
  9. Disconnect the door harness connectors (x3) to the door control unit.
  10. Remove the bolts (x6) that attach the LH front door closeout panel to the door.
  11. Disconnect the door harness connector to LH the front door speaker.
  12. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the LH front door speaker to the spacer ring.
  13. Disconnect the exterior door mirror connectors (x2).
  14. Release the connector for the LH door impact sensor.
  15. Release the LH front door harness from the door assembly.

    12x clips, 1x rubber grommet.
  16. Disconnect the 3.0 door handle harness from the LH front door handle assembly.
  17. Disconnect the harness connector of the LH front door latch.
  18. Disconnect the harness connector of the LH front window regulator.
  19. Remove the front plug cap that covers the LH front window regulator lower nut.
  20. Loosen the front lower nut from the LH front window regulator, and then push the regulator arm out to get the harness out.
  21. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH front door harness to from the door assembly.
  22. Release the LH front door harness grommets (x2) from the door and body assembly.
  23. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim.

    4x clips. The number of clips that attach the trim to the vehicle varies depending on vehicle production date. Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing the sill trim.
  24. Remove the instrument panel side cover.

  25. Release the clip that attaches the LH front door harness to the instrument panel.
  26. Disconnect the door harness connectors (x3) from the lower body front harness.
  27. Remove the harness from the vehicle.

    Guide the harness from inside the cabin out through the A-pillar.

Installation

  1. Route the LH door harness through the door and A-pillar.

    Route the harness behind the front regulator arm.
  2. Install the two harness grommets.

    The arrow on the grommet must point upwards. Make sure they are fitted correctly to avoid water ingress.
  3. Connect the LH door harness connectors (x3) to the lower body front harness.
  4. Install the edge clip onto the instrument panel carrier.
  5. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim

    4x clips. The number of clips that attach the A-pillar sill trim varies depending on vehicle production date. Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing the sill trim.
  6. Install the LH instrument panel side cover.

  7. Install the clips (x2) that attach the LH front door harness onto the door assembly.
  8. Attach the clips (x12) and rubber grommet that attach the LH front door harness to the door assembly.
  9. Connect the LH door harness connector to the latch assembly.
  10. Connect the 3.0 door handle harness to the door handle assembly.
  11. Connect the regulator motor connector to the regulator motor.

  12. Install the nut that attaches the LH front window regulator to the door assembly. Push the regulator arm inward, and then install the nut (torque 10 Nm).
  13. Install the cover plug onto the door assembly.
  14. Install the screws (x4) that attach the LH front door speaker to the spacer ring (torque 1.8 Nm).
  15. Connect the LH door harness connector to the LH front door speaker.
  16. Connect the outside mirror connectors (x2)
  17. Connect the connector to the LH door impact sensor.
  18. Install the screws (x6) that attach the LH front door closeout panel to the door (torque 4 Nm).

    Note
    Make sure that the inner door handle manual release cable is routed correctly.
  19. Connect the door harness connector to the door handle controller.
  20. Connect the door harness connectors (x3) to the door control unit.
  21. Connect 12V power and install all parts that were removed for 12V power disconnection. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  22. Verify correct operation of the LH front window.

    Note
    Cycle the LH front window, listen and look for contact between the regulator and wiring harness during operation. Make sure that the door handle harness and connectors are clear of the path of the regulator and moving glass.
  23. Remove the window switch tool from the LH front door harness.
  24. Gently spread the upper door clips (x5) with a screwdriver to ensure adequate holding force to the door panel.
  25. Install the LH front door panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
