Brake Hose - Flexible - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Warning
If the vehicle has air
suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and
supporting the vehicle.
Note
Replace the flexible brake hose
whenever the caliper is replaced, or the banjo bolt is loosened.
Removal
- Remove the front LH wheel (refer to procedure).
- Clean the areas that surround the connections at each end of the brake hose.

Loosen the nut that secures the brake pipe to to the brake hose, then disconnect
the brake pipe from the hose (torque 14 Nm).
CAUTIONTo prevent damage always use a suitable wrench to hold the backing nut when loosening pipes and unions.CAUTIONPlug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.NotePlace suitable absorbent material around the affected area to absorb any possible fluid spillage.
- Note the orientation of both retaining clips that secure the brake hose. Remove both retaining clips and release the brake hose.

Remove the bolt that attaches the
brake hose to the caliper (torque 42 Nm).
CAUTIONPlug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.NotePlace suitable absorbent material around the affected area to absorb any possible fluid spillage.CAUTIONIf brake fluid is spilled on a painted surface, wash off immediately with clean water.

Note the orientation of the brake hose. Remove the brake hose from the
vehicle.

Installation
Note
Clean the affected areas before
installation.
CAUTION
Ensure that the brake hose is oriented
correctly with no excessive twist or bends.
CAUTION
Ensure that the retaining clips that
secure the brake hose are oriented correctly.

Ensure that the clip that secures the brake hose to the suspension module
retaining bracket is installed correctly.

Rear wheel drive (RWD)
vehicles: The hose and the clip are installed from the same
direction.NoteEnsure that the clip is fully seated, with the “fingers” both remaining on the bottom side of the retaining bracket.

Dual motor (DM)
vehicles: The clip is installed from the rear.NoteEnsure that the clip is fully seated, with the “fingers” both remaining on the bottom side of the retaining bracket.

vehicles: The hose and the clip are installed from the same
direction.
- Bleed the brake caliper (refer to procedure).
