Park Brake Caliper - Release - Harness Tool - Through Calipers

CAUTION If two are needed, use the same part number for both. |

Warning
If the vehicle has air
suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and
supporting the vehicle.

Position the vehicle in preparation for raising it, but do not raise it at this time.
NoteIf the vehicle is not mobile, do the following:
- Chock the front wheels.
- Place a floorjack under the jackpad at a rear corner of the vehicle.
- Raise the rear corner of the vehicle.
- Place a roller dolly under the wheel.
- Lower the vehicle onto the dolly.
- Secure the dolly.
- Remove the floorjack.
- If needed, repeat these steps from step 1.b to place another dolly under the other wheel.
- Remove the chocks.
- Move the vehicle as needed.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the wheel.
- Disconnect the parking brake caliper harness.

Connect the electronic parking brake (EPB) release tool harness to the parking brake caliper.
NoteAfter connecting the tool to the caliper harness, wrap the connector seam with electrical tape to prevent contamination.
- Hold down the button on the tool harness until the sound of the caliper motor is no longer audible. This typically takes about 4 seconds.

If the parking brake caliper does not release, do the following:
- Turn off the 12V power supply.
- Turn on the 12V power supply.
- Repeat step 6.
- Disconnect the tool from the parking brake caliper.

If needed, perform this procedure on the other side of the vehicle, starting from step 3.
NoteContinue only after it is acceptable for the electronic park brake to engage.
- Reconnect the vehicle harness to the parking brake caliper.
- Reinstall the wheel.
- Lower the vehicle.
