Radiator (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the inlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Inlet (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the outlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  9. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the front fascia. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  11. Remove the ankle catcher. See Ankle Catcher Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  12. Release the LH and RH tabs that attach the front ducting to the front end ducting assembly.

  13. Release the top and bottom tabs (x12) that attach the front ducting to the front end ducting assembly, and then remove ducting from the assembly.
  14. Install a coolant hose clamp on the LH radiator hose. Repeat this step for the RH radiator hose.

  15. Set the vehicle to a comfortable working height.
  16. Place a coolant drain container below the RH side of the radiator.
  17. Release the RH coolant hose from the radiator. Move the coolant drain container and repeat this step for the LH coolant hose.

  18. Release the tabs (x4) that attach the radiator to the vehicle, and then remove the radiator from the front end ducting assembly.

Installation

  1. Position the radiator into the vehicle, and then secure the tabs (x4) that attach the radiator to the front end ducting assembly.
  2. Install the LH and RH coolant hoses to the radiator.

  3. Release the coolant hose clamps from the LH and RH radiator hose.

  4. Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  5. Partially lower the vehicle.
  6. Position the front ducting to the front end ducting assembly, and then secure the tabs (x16) that attach the ducting to the assembly.

  7. Install the ankle catcher. See Ankle Catcher Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the front fascia. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  9. Connect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  10. Remove the coolant bottle cap.
  11. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  12. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Coolant air purge" into the search field, click PROC_THC_X_COOLANT-AIR-PURGEvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Coolant Air Purge, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  13. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
  14. Top off the coolant as needed, and then install the coolant bottle cap.
  15. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  16. Install the outlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the inlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Inlet (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  21. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  22. Lower the LH front window and close the LH front door.
