Raise and support vehicle
NotePrepare to raise vehicle, Set air suspension to "Jack Mode", Position lift arm pads on vehicle jack pads
- Open LH front door
- Lower LH front window

Enter Service Mode
NoteEnter Service mode through touchscreen. Press Car icon => Go to Software tab=> Press and hold ''Model'' for 3 seconds=>In new window type ''service'' or press voice command button on steering wheel and say ''service''=>Press ''OK'' button. Car is in service mode now

Open hood
NoteVia Controls > Front Trunk

Remove rear underhood apron
Note8x clips
-
Remove RH underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Remove LH underhood apron
Note9x clips

Remove clips securing cabin intake duct assembly to cowl panel
Note3x push clips
-
Release primary and secondary drain tubes from cabin intake duct assembly
Note2x hoses
-
Remove cabin intake duct assembly
Note2x clips on HEPA filter
-
Remove HEPA filter outlet duct from vehicle
NoteLift up, pull towards front of vehicle, then rotate clockwise
-
Power off vehicle via UI
NoteVia Controls > Safety > Power Off

Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
Note1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

Remove front underhood apron
Note7x clips
-
Disconnect light and release switch connectors and remove underhood storage carpet
Note2x connectors, Release edge of carpet from underneath underhood storage unit seal

Release underhood storage unit
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, 2x push clips
-
Remove underhood storage unit
Note1x grommet, Lift the underhood storage unit appropriately to access the grommet and push grommet through underhood storage
-
Disconnect the front fascia harness
Note2x connectors
-
Release the edge clip that secures the fascia harness to the RH active shutter
Note1x edge clip
- Apply masking tape to protect LH and RH front fender
-
Remove bolts securing fascia bracket to carrier
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm
-
Remove screw securing front fascia to LH fender bracket
Note1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
-
Remove screw securing front fascia to RH fender bracket
Note1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
-
Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

Release front aero shield
Note10x push clips

Remove front aero shield
Note12x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm
-
Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

Release fascia from fender brackets and pull forward to remove from vehicle
NoteSet fascia on protected surface, Recommend assistance

Remove ankle catcher from front end carrier
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Discard after removal

Release the LH tabs securing the front ducting to front end ducting assembly
Note2x tabs
-
Release the RH tabs securing the front ducting to front end ducting assembly
Note2x tabs
-
Release the top and bottom tabs securing front ducting to front end ducting assembly and remove from vehicle
Note12x tabs, Carefully release the tabs and remove front end ducting from vehicle

Use shop-vac to clean dirt on the radiator
NoteIf necessary removal large debris

Use blow gun to clean dirt on the radiator again
NoteDo not get too close to radiator blades
-
Use shop-vac to clean dirt on both condensers
NoteIf necessary removal large debris

Use blow gun to clean dirt on both condensers again
NoteDo not get too close to condenser blades

Install front ducting onto front end ducting assembly
Note16x tabs, Carefully secure front duct to onto front end ducting assembly
-
Install ankle catcher onto front end carrier assembly
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Install new bolts

Place front fascia onto vehicle and secure fascia to fender brackets
NoteRecommend Assistance, Route fascia harness while installing, Align guide tabs to aeroshield then secure to fender brackets

Secure fascia harness clip onto the RH active shutter
Note1x edge clip
-
Connect front fascia harness
Note2x connectors
-
Install screw securing fascia to LH fender bracket
Note1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
-
Install screw securing fascia to RH fender bracket
Note1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
-
Install bolts securing LH and RH side of fascia to carrier
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm
-
Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
NoteSet vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

Position front aero shield to vehicle

Position front aero shield to vehicle

Install and tighten bolts securing front aero shield to vehicle
Note12x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm

Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
NoteRaise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
- Remove masking tape from front fenders
-
Position underhood storage unit
Note1x grommet, Lift the underhood storage unit appropriately to access the gromment and feed harness grommet through underhood storage unit

Install bolts and clips securing underhood storage unit
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, 2x push clips
-
Install underhood storage carpet and reconnect light and release switch connectors
Note2x connectors, Secure edges of carpet underneath underhood storage unit seal

Install front underhood apron
Note7x clips
-
Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal
Note1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, Connect First Responder Loop first

Unlock vehicle Gateway
NoteAfter vehicle has been put into "Service Mode", hold down the brake pedal, while holding down break pedal simultaneously hold the turn signal stalk fully up for at least 10 seconds, "GTW UNLOCKING" should pop up on the instrument cluster right below the VIN during these 10 seconds, once gateway is unlocked "GTW UNLOCKED 5400" will be displayed on the instrument cluster underneath the VIN, the gateway will remain unlocked for 90 minutes, follow steps on Toolbox article #5582900 for any additional information

Perform Thermal Test via Service UI
NoteSelect Thermal > Actions > Thermal Test, click Run, close once routine is completed

Exit Service Mode UI

- Install HEPA filter outlet duct

Install cabin intake duct assembly
Note2x tabs, One on each side

Secure primary and secondary drain tubes to cabin intake duct assembly
Note2x hoses

Install clips securing cabin intake duct assembly to cowl panel
Note3x push clips

Install LH underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Install RH underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Install rear underhood apron
Note8x clips

Close hood
NotePress firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood
- Raise LH front window
- Close LH front door

Remove vehicle from lift
NoteLower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode" via Controls > Service > '' JACK MODE''
