Fuse Box - Cabin - Front (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Open the RH front door and lower the RH front window.
  3. Move the front passenger seat fully rearwards.
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the inlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Inlet (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the outlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  9. Remove the RH floor mat.
  10. Remove the RH center console closeout extension. See Assembly - Closeout Extension - LH - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the RH instrument panel side cover. See Assembly - Instrument Panel Side Cover - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Panel - A Pillar Trim - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Remove the RH sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the RH footwell cover. See Assembly - Cover - Footwell - Passenger's (Remove and Replace).
  15. Fold the front portion of RH front carpet down.
  16. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x7) on the outer side from the WIP harness bracket, and then slide it from the fuse box bracket.
  17. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x10) to the fuse box.
  18. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the 12V input harness.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  19. Press the clips (x2 bottom, x2 top) on the bottom to release fuse box, and then remove the fuse box from the vehicle.

Installation

  1. Install the new fuse box to vehicle.

    Note
    Make sure the upper clips (x2) slide into the body and the bottom clips (x2) on to the bracket.
  2. Install a new nut that attaches the 12V input harness.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  3. Connect the electrical connectors (x10) to the fuse box.
  4. Reinstall the electrical connectors (x7) into the WIP harness bracket and slide it onto the fuse box bracket.

  5. Unfold the front portion of the RH front carpet.
  6. Install the RH footwell cover. See Assembly - Cover - Footwell - Passenger's (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the RH sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Panel - A Pillar Trim - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the RH instrument panel side cover. See Assembly - Instrument Panel Side Cover - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the RH center console closeout extension. See Assembly - Closeout Extension - LH - Center Console (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the RH floor mat.
  12. Reconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  13. Install the outlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the inlet HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Inlet (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  17. Close the hood.
  18. Restore the front passenger seat back to its original position.
  19. Close the RH front window and RH front door.
