Pipe - High Pressure - Compressor to Condenser (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure requires the A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) procedure to be performed. If not already automatically added to the Service Visit, add correction code 18200102 as a separate activity to the Service Visit.

Removal

  1. Recover refrigerant from the vehicle (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the underhood storage unit (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the bolt that secures the high pressure pipe to the compressor (torque 10 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Plug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.

    CAUTION
    Remove and discard O-rings.
  4. Disconnect the high pressure temperature transducer connector.
  5. Remove the front LH lower wheel arch liner (refer to procedure).
  6. Remove the nut that secures the high pressure pipe to the gas cool condenser (torque 8 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Plug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
  7. Remove the nut that secures the high pressure pipe to the chassis rail (torque 6 Nm).
  8. Remove the high pressure pipe.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Lubricate new O-rings with clean refrigerant oil.
  1. Verify that the A/C works as expected.
