Vehicles With Single Phase, Non-Motorized Charge Port

Removal
- Open the charge port.
- Remove the rear trunk side trim. See Trim - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove the nuts that attach
the taillight assembly to the rear quarter panel (torque 3 Nm).

Disconnect the taillight harness.
- From inside the vehicle, release the taillight harness clip.
- From outside the vehicle, carefully rotate the taillight out as far as possible.
- Reach behind the taillight and disconnect the harness.
- Remove the taillight assembly.
Installation
Insert a plastic 1 mm feeler gauge between the body and the base of the taillight. While holding the feeler gauge in place, tighten the nuts in the order shown (torque 3.5 Nm).
Vehicles With Single Phase, Motorized Charge Port

Removal
- Remove the charge port. See Charge Port - Single Phase - Motorized (Remove and Replace).

Remove the 2 butyl patches to expose the rear nuts that secure the LH taillight.
NoteIf necessary, replace the butyl patches.
- Release the 3 nuts that attach the LH taillight to the body (torque 3.5 Nm).

Working from outside the vehicle, rotate the taillight towards the front of the vehicle to expose the taillight harness. Disconnect this harness and remove the taillight.
Installation

Insert a plastic 1 mm feeler gauge between the body and the base of the taillight. While holding the feeler gauge in place, tighten the nuts in the order shown (torque 3.5 Nm).
- It is not necessary to update the vehicle firmware.
Vehicles With 3 Phase, Non-Motorized Charge Port

Removal
- Remove the LH trunk trim. See Trim - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).

Disconnect the harness that connects the taillight to the charge port.

Remove the grounding bracket by releasing the nut that secures it to the body (torque 6 Nm).

Remove the cover from the cable connector by using a trim tool or similar non-conductive tool to bend the 3 tabs that secure the cover to the cable connector.
NoteThe locations of the tabs are marked by arrows on the face of the cover.CAUTIONDo not lose or damage the magnet on the outboard side of the cable connector.

Remove the 3 bolts that attach
the cable connector to the charge port in the order shown (torque 4 Nm). Remove
the cable connector from the charge port.

If equipped, remove the butyl patches to expose the rear nuts that secure the LH taillight.
NoteIf necessary, replace the butyl patches.

Remove the nuts that attach
the taillight assembly to the quarter panel (torque 3 Nm).
Installation
Insert a plastic 1 mm feeler gauge between the body and the base of the taillight. While holding the feeler gauge in place, tighten the nuts in the order shown (torque 3 Nm).
Vehicles With 3 Phase, Motorized Charge Port

Removal
- Remove the charge port. See Charge Port - 3 Phase (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect the harness from the charge port door.

If equipped, remove the butyl patches to expose the rear nuts that secure the LH taillight.
NoteIf necessary, replace the butyl patches.

Remove the nuts (x3) that
attach the taillight assembly to the quarter panel (torque 3 Nm).
Installation
Insert a plastic 1 mm feeler gauge between the body and the base of the taillight. While holding the feeler gauge in place, tighten the nuts in the order shown (torque 3 Nm).
