Base Assembly - Driver Seat (Model X Seat) (Remove & Replace)

Open both doors on LH side
Lower both LH side windows
Open hood

Note
Using MCU touchscreen > Controls > Frunk Trunk
Remove rear underhood apron

Remove LH underhood apron

Release drainage hoses from HEPA filter inlet duct

Remove clips securing HEPA filter inlet duct to cowl panel

Remove HEPA filter inlet duct

Remove HEPA filter outlet duct from vehicle

Note
Lift up, pull towards front of vehicle, then rotate clockwise
Move LH front seat forward
Remove the LH front seat rear track covers

Remove bolts securing rear of LH front seat tracks to the floor panel

Note
1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard after removal
Move LH front seat backward
Remove LH front seat front track covers

Note

Remove bolts securing front of LH front seat tracks to the floor panel

Note
1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard after removal
Adjust position of LH front seat for easy removal

Note
Move seat to middle of track at most upright position with seat fully up off floor
Power down vehicle using MCU

Controls > Safety&Security > Power Off > ''POWER OFF''
Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop

1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components
Disconnect LH front seat connectors

Remove LH front seat from vehicle

Recommend assistance, Use caution to not damage other components
Lift seat bottom to gain access to seat frame
Release toe kick straps from both sides of interior seat base

Release seat cushion upholstery J-hooks

Remove puddle lamp

Remove seat belt buckle from cushion frame

Remove the inboard fasteners securing the seat back frame to the cushion frame

Remove the seat back frame from the cushion frame

Lift up on seat back to release from seat cushion frame
Release the retaining clips securing seat bottom near seat buckle

Release seat cushion upholstery from seat cushion frame

1x J-hook, Starting on LH side of seat cushion upholstery pry J-hook out of seat cushion frame and work your way toward RH side to release seat cushion upholstery
Remove seat cushion upholstery from seat cushion frame

Note
Lift up on seat cushion to separate from seat cushion frame
Install seat cushion to seat cushion frame
Install seat cushion upholstery to seat cushion frame

Note
1x J-hook, Starting on RH side of seat cushion upholstery press J-hook into seat cushion frame and work your way toward LH side to secure seat cushion upholstery
Install the retaining clips securing seat bottom near seat buckle

2x clips, Press clips on seat cushion frame to secure seat cushion upholstery
Install seat back frame to cushion frame

Note
Position seat back frame to seat cushion frame
Install the inboard fasteners securing the seat back frame to the cushion frame

Note
2x patch bolts, TP45, 43 Nm, Install new patch bolts
Install the outboard fasteners securing the seat back frame to the cushion frame

Note
2x patch bolts, TP45, 43 Nm, Install new patch bolts
Install the seat belt buckle onto the cushion frame

Note
1x bolt, 14mm, 40 Nm, 1x connector
Install LH outer mic

Note
Position LH outer mic to seat back frame and rotate clockwise while pressing down to install
Install LH inner mic

Note
Position LH inner mic to seat back frame and rotate counter clockwise while pressing down to install
Install front center panel cover

Note

Install RH side shield

Note
5x clips, 1x connector clip
Install RH side shield fastener

Note
1x screw, PH2, 2 Nm
Install LH side shield

Install LH side shield fastener

Place the front seat in a position to gain access to the bottom of the seat

Protect seat cushion from damage
Install seat connector to spring mat

1x clip, Slide connector onto spring mat
Connect seat bottom connectors

Install seat cushion upholstery J-hooks

Install Puddle lamp

Install air bag jumper harness

Secure the toe kick straps from both sides of the interior seat base

Return seat to upright position
Install LH front seat into vehicle

Recommend Assistance, Take care not to damage surrounding components while lifting the seat into the vehicle
Connect LH front seat connectors

Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal

Move LH front seat backward
Install bolts securing both LH front seat front tracks to vehicle

1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Install new bolts
Install LH front seat front track covers

Move LH front seat forward
Install bolts securing both LH front seat rear tracks to vehicle

1x patch bolt, T40P, 17 Nm, 1x patch bolt, T45P, 34 Nm, Install new bolts
Install LH front seat rear track covers

Move LH front seat to original position
Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
Redeploy the vehicle firmware. See Firmware Reinstall - Toolbox.
Calibrate the seat:
- To calibrate the driver seat, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "PROC_MSMD" into the search field, click PROC_MSMD_VCSEATD-FRONT-DRV_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEAT, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
- To calibrate the front passenger seat, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "PROC_MSMP" into the search field, click PROC_MSMP_VCSEATP-FRONT-PAS_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEAT, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
Install HEPA filter outlet duct
Install HEPA filter inlet duct

Install clips securing HEPA filter inlet duct to cowl panel
