Removal

  1. Open all four doors.
  2. Lower all four windows.
  3. Move LH front seat forward.
  4. Remove the LH front seat rear track covers.

  6. Move LH front seat backward.
  7. Remove LH front seat front track covers.

  30. Remove cubby under MCU and connect laptop to vehicle with a tethered Ethernet connection via Toolbox 3.

Select connection status icon at top right corner and select Connect Locally (icon will turn green when vehicle is connected), Local connection will enable service mode plus on display.
  31. Run refrigerant drain and fill routine to enable A/C recovery.

  32. Set up A/C machine and perform hose flush.

  33. Connect AC machine hoses to service ports.

    2x connections, High side (red), low side (blue), Pull back on AC line port lock, then engage onto AC pipe and turn top lock clockwise until fully tightened.
  34. Verify Thermal Fill Drain then start the A/C recovery process.

    Green check mark approves, Red X declines, Touch time only, Note the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered, Mark oil drain bottle oil level (use a piece of tape marking the fluid level), Open couplers by turning clockwise, Using Main Menu > Recover > Verify hose connection, Machine will chime once process is complete, Vehicle may be left unattended, Note or print the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered.
  35. Disconnect the high-side (red) hose and low-side (blue) hose from the vehicle.
  36. Fully lower and extend steering column.
  37. Power off vehicle via UI.

  134. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear of the instrument cluster and remove from IP carrier.

    3x connectors, tilt the IC away from the IP carrier to access connections, Take care not to put excessive strain on the wiring and connectors to the IC (1x chime connector pulls straight out, 1x flip lock type connector, 1x coaxial connector, release tab is on the underside of the connector), After removal place the IC on ESD safe surface.
  135. Remove the MCU mounting screws.

  136. Tilt the MCU out from the IP carrier at the top in order to access connectors.

  137. Disconnect all electrical connections from the MCU.

All connectors are equipped with locking tabs that must be depressed prior to disconnect, Avoid putting excessive tension on the connectors and wiring harness during removal, (number of connectors may vary depending on vehicle configuration and MCU part number revision).
