Pyrotechnic Battery Disconnect (Remove and Replace)
Correction Code 17570102
Choose the appropriate procedure based on the vehicle's configuration and date of manufacture:
- RWD vehicles built through April 10, 2016, refer to 1st Generation RWD
- Dual Motor vehicles built through April 10, 2016, refer to 1st Generation Dual Motor/2nd Generation
- All vehicles built after April 10, 2016, refer to 1st Generation Dual Motor/2nd Generation
1st Generation RWD
Removal
- Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power .

LHD vehicles only: Remove the pollen filter rear housing:

RHD vehicles only: Pull back the LH front upper wheel arch liner for access (refer to procedure).
NoteThe wheel arch liner does not need to be completely removed.

Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the fuse box cover (torque 3 Nm).

Disconnect the pyrotechnic battery disconnect harness.

Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the pyrotechnic battery disconnect (torque 12 Nm).
- Remove the pyrotechnic battery disconnect from the vehicle.
Installation
- Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
1st Generation Dual Motor/2nd Generation
Removal
- Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power .

Remove the fuse box cover.

Disconnect the pyrotechnic battery disconnect harness.

Release the relay holder from the bracket and move it out of the working area.

Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the pyrotechnic battery disconnect (torque 15 Nm).
- Remove the pyrotechnic battery disconnect from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
Make sure that the ring terminals are positioned on the pyrotechnic battery disconnect mounting studs before reinstalling the nuts.
