Remove cover from outer LH sun visor mount

Note

Take care not to damage the sun visor mounting cover

Remove LH sun visor

Note

1x screw, T20, 2.8 Nm, 1x tab, 1x connector if equipped with lighted visors

Remove LH sun visor center support

Note

1x screw, T15, 2.5 Nm, Release cover and remove screw

Remove rear view mirror lower trim

Note

4x tabs, Pull downward at slight angle

Disconnect the rear view mirror electrical connector

Note

1x connector

Remove rear view mirror

Note

Rotate mirror to release

Remove the rear cover by pulling down to release the clips

Note

Remove cover from outer RH sun visor mount

Note

Take care not to damage the sun visor mounting cover

Remove RH sun visor

1x screw, T20, 2.8 Nm, 1x tab, 1x connector if equipped with lighted visors

Remove RH sun visor center support

Remove LH middle A-pillar trim

Remove LH upper A-pillar trim panel

1x screw with washer, 7mm, 2 Nm, 1x connector, 2x locating tabs, 1x clip

Remove LH lower A-pillar trim

Note

4x clips, The number of clips securing the trim varies depending on vehicle production date, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing sill trim

Move LH front seat forward

Release bottom portion of LH lower C-pillar trim

Note

2x clips,Take care not to damage, Release the lower portion for access, Replace any damaged or missing clips

Remove fasteners securing LH lower B-pillar trim

Note

2x screws, T25, 2 Nm

Remove LH lower B-pillar trim

Note

6x plastic clips to body, 2x metal clips to upper B-pillar, Replace any damaged or missing clips, Lift the trim to clear the seat and pre-tensioner

Remove LH upper B-pillar trim and move it aside

Note

2x metal clips, 1x tab, First pull the lower part toward inside the vehicle to release clips, once released pull the trim downwards

Remove the plastic grommet that covers the fastener anchoring the LH seat belt to the pre-tensioner

Remove the bolt that secures the fixed seat belt end to LH pre-tensioner

Note

1x patch bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm, Discard after removal

Separate seat belt pretensioner cover and release the seat belt from the LH pretensioner

Remove the screws that secure the seat belt guide to the rear of the LH upper B-pillar trim.

Note

3x screws, T20, 2 Nm

Pass the seat belt with the B-pillar guide through the upper B-pillar trim and remove the LH upper B-pillar from vehicle

Remove RH IP side cover

Note

3x clips, 1x connector

Remove RH middle A-pillar trim

Remove RH upper A-pillar trim panel

Note

1x screw, 7mm, 2 Nm, 1x connector

Remove RH lower A-pillar trim

Note

4x clips, The number of clips securing the trim varies depending on vehicle production date, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing sill trim

Move RH front seat forward

Release bottom portion of RH lower C-pillar trim

Note

2x clips, Take care not to damage, Release the lower portion for access, Replace any damaged or missing clips

Remove fasteners securing RH lower B-pillar trim

Note

2x screws, T25, 2 Nm

Remove RH lower B-pillar trim

Note

6x plastic clips to body, 2x metal clips to upper B-pillar, Replace any damaged or missing clips

Remove RH upper B-pillar trim and move it aside

Note

2x metal clips, First pull the lower part toward inside the vehicle to release clips, once released pull the trim downwards

Pass the seat belt with the B post guide through the upper B-pillar trim and remove the RH upper B-pillar from vehicle

Remove parcel shelf

Remove LH middle C pillar trim

Note

1x screw, T25, 3 Nm, 4x clips

Remove LH C-pillar upper trim

Note

Separate the upper section of the LH C-Pillar from the lower C-Pillar

Note

Remove bolt securing headliner and support strap at LH C-pillar

Note

1x bolt, 8mm, 10 Nm

Remove RH middle C pillar trim

Note

1x screw, T25, 3 Nm

Remove RH upper C-pillar trim

Note

Separate the upper section of the RH C-Pillar from the lower C-Pillar

Remove bolt securing headliner and support strap at RH C-pillar

Release headliner at front of vehicle

Release headliner at LH side of vehicle above B-pillar area

1x clip, Recommend looking at reflection of clip in roof glass and using pick tool to release

Release headliner at RH side of vehicle above B-pillar area

Fold 2nd row seatbacks down

Release rear of headliner and lower

Disconnect headliner harness at LH A-pillar and remove harness from guide channel

Release drainage hoses from HEPA filter inlet duct

Lift up, pull towards front of vehicle, then rotate clockwise

Power down vehicle using MCU

Note

Controls > Safety&Security > Power Off > ''POWER OFF''

Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop

Note

1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

Disconnect the LH curtain airbag harness connector.

Note

Release airbag connector locking tab and gently remove connector from airbag, Warning: To avoid personal injury, observe all relevant safety precautions before removing or testing any SRS components.

Remove and discard bolts that secure the LH curtain airbag to the body

Note

9x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Discard patch bolts, new bolts to be used on installation

Remove the clip that secures the pyrotechnic to LH the cantrail

Note

1x fir tree clip

Release the airbag location pegs from the LH cantrail, and release pyrotectnic locating tab

Note

5x location pegs, 1x locating tab, Slide the pyrotechnic towards the rear of the vehicle and rotate downward to release locating tab from cantrail

Remove the LH curtain airbag assembly

Note

Warning: Store the airbag module with the deployment side facing up. This will prevent it from being propelled if accidentally deployed, which might cause injury.

Disconnect the RH curtain airbag harness connector

Note

Warning: To avoid personal injury, observe all relevant safety precautions before removing or testing any SRS components.

Remove and discard bolts that secure the RH curtain airbag to the body

Note

9x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Discard patch bolts, new bolts to be used on installation

Remove the clip that secures the pyrotechnic to the RH cantrail

Note

1x fir tree clip,

Release the airbag location pegs from the RH cantrail, and release pyrotectnic locating tab

Note

5x location pegs, 1x locating tab, Slide the pyrotechnic towards the rear of the vehicle and rotate downward to release locating tab from cantrail

Remove the RH curtain airbag assembly

Note

Warning: Store the airbag module with the deployment side facing up. This will prevent it from being propelled if accidentally deployed, which might cause injury.

Remove bolts secured to RH body panel

Note

2x bolts, T40, 25 Nm, Discard bolts after removal

Install RH B-pillar ramp onto body

Note

2x bolts, 13 mm, 25 Nm, Install new patch bolts

Place the RH curtain airbag assembly into the vehicle

Align the airbag pyrotechnic locating tab to the RH cantrail and secure the pyrotechnic in place with the nearby clip

Note

1x locating tab, 1x fir tree clip, start pyrotechnic locating tab into bore on cantrail then rotate pyrotechnic assembly and wiggle while maintaining forward pressure in order to get tab to slide into place. ensure airbag assembly is not twisted before installing the fir tree clip to the body

Secure the airbag location pegs to the RH cantrail

Note

5x location pegs, Rotate location peg bracket 90 degrees, insert to bore in cantrail and rotate back into position so that the airbag fastener aligns with the thread bore on the cantrail

Install bolts securing RH curtain airbag to body

Note

9x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, The 10th bolt on the tether at the front of the airbag is not to be installed yet. Rivnut installation on the A pillar is required for this bolt, ensure that wiring harness and panoramic roof drain tubes are properly routed and connected before moving onto the next step

Connect the RH curtain airbag harness connector

Note

1x connector, first ensure locking tab is not engaged, seat connector then engage locking tab, attempting to seat the connector with the lock tab engaged can damage the pins on the pyrotechnic

Install forward foam block on RH side curtain airbag housing

Note

Do not attach foam blocks to headliner, Headliner does not need to be removed to install blocks, Position forward foam block 70mm from leading edge of curtain airbag housing and 15mm from the top of curtain airbag housing

Remove bolts secured to LH body panel

Note

2x bolts, T40, 25 Nm, Discard bolts after removal

Install LH B-pillar ramp onto body

Note

2x bolts, 13 mm, 25 Nm, Install new patch bolts

Place the LH curtain airbag assembly into the vehicle.

Align the airbag pyrotechnic locating tab to the LH cantrail and secure the pyrotechnic in place with the nearby clip

Note

1x locating tab, 1x fir tree clip, start pyrotechnic locating tab into bore on cantrail then rotate pyrotechnic assembly and wiggle while maintaining forward pressure in order to get tab to slide into place. ensure airbag assembly is not twisted before installing the fir tree clip to the body

Secure the airbag location pegs to the LH cantrail.

Note

Install bolts securing LH curtain airbag to body

Note

9x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Ensure bolts are properly aligned during installation and that the location pegs stay secured in the cantrail. apply pressure to the bracket to hold in place during installation

Connect the LH curtain airbag harness connector

Note

1x connector, first ensure locking tab is not engaged, seat connector then engage locking tab, attempting to seat the connector with the lock tab engaged can damage the pins on the pyrotechnic

Install both foam blocks on LH side curtain airbag housing

Note

Do not attach foam blocks to headliner. Headliner does not need to be removed to install blocks. Installation Position: Front foam block: 70mm from leading edge of curtain airbag housing. Rear foam block: 55mm from rear edge of curtain airbag housing. Both foam blocks: 15mm from the top of curtain airbag housing

Reconnect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal

Note

Install HEPA filter outlet duct

Install HEPA filter inlet duct

Install clips securing HEPA filter inlet duct to cowl panel

To prevent damage to the top pad and catch metal shavings made during the rivnut installation process

Drill a 10mm hole in the LH A pillar for rivnut installation and a 4 mm hole for the locating pin

Note

Replacement curtain air bag is longer and has an additional anchor point that must be secured to the vehicles a pillar, recommend first drilling pilot hole at center punch mark and then stepping up drill bits as required. (For example start with 3mm bit, then 6mm, then 8mm, and finishing with 10mm)

Install the rivnut to the LH A pillar

Note

Equip the rivnut tool with the M6 components for the supplied rivnuts to be installed

Clean up metal shavings in the LH A pillar area

Secure the LH curtain airbag tether to the rivnut

Note

1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm, Ensure tether is routed in front of all other components on the A pillar

Align strap onto RH a pillar to mark position for anchor point

Note

Remove foam and install RH upper B-pillar trim

2x metal clips, Ensure locating tab at top of B-pillar is aligned to the opening in the body, Replace any broken or missing clips prior to installation

Install seat belt anchor to the RH pre-tensioner and install cover

Install bolt securing the fixed seat belt end to RH pre-tensioner

1x patch bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm, Install new patch bolt

Install plastic cover over fastener anchoring the RH seat belt to the pre-tensioner

Install RH lower B-pillar trim

Note

6x plastic clips, 2x metal clips, Replace any broken or missing clips prior to installation

Install fasteners securing RH lower B-pillar trim

Note

2x screws, T25, 2 Nm

Secure bottom portion of RH lower C-pillar trim

2x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips

Install the seat belt and B-pillar guide through the LH upper B-pillar trim

Install the screws securing seat belt guide to LH upper B-pillar trim

Remove foam block and install LH upper B-pillar trim
