Module - Autopilot - ECU (Dispose)

CAUTION
This procedure must be performed
prior to disposing of an Autopilot ECU. The Autopilot ECU might contain
personally identifying Customer data. Failure to perform this procedure can
result in vulnerabilities to Customer and Tesla internal information.
Note
The correction code for the disposal of the Autopilot ECU
must be added to the Service Visit as a separate activity when replacing a car
computer.
Disposal Procedure (HW2.X Autopilot ECU)
- Remove the screws (x4) that attaches the top cover of the Autopilot ECU.
- Remove the screws (x10) that retain the APE PCBA to the housing, and then disconnect the connectors (x2) from the PCBA.
- Remove the PCBA from the housing.
- Flip the PCBA over, and then remove the bolts (x12) that attach the heatsinks to the PCBA.

Use an 8mm drill bit to
drill holes (x4) through the APE CPUs and UFS chips and through the
PCBA.
NotePlace a block of wood or other buffer material under the PCBA.
- Capture images of the drilled out chips, and upload the images to the MRB attachment section.

Dispose of the Autopilot
ECU.

Disposal Procedure (HW3.X Autopilot ECU)
- Remove the screws (x4) that attaches the top cover of the Autopilot ECU.
- Remove the screws (x16) that retain the APE PCBA to the housing, and then disconnect the connectors (x2) from the PCBA.
- Remove the PCBA from the housing, and then flip the PCBA over to expose the APE CPUs and UFS chips.

Flip the APE PCBA board
over, and then use an 8 mm drill bit to drill holes (x4) in the APE CPUs and
UFS chips and through the PCBA.
NotePlace a block of wood or other buffer material under the PCBA.
- Capture images of the drilled out chips, and upload the images to the MRB attachment section.

Dispose of the Autopilot ECU.
