Before disconnecting the 12V power supply, ensure that the driver’s door window is fully open. Failure to follow this instruction could result in vehicle lockout.
  1. Connect a laptop to the diagnostic port of the vehicle, and then use Toolbox 3 to locally connect to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  2. Unlock the vehicle gateway for diagnostic communication. See Gateway Unlock.
  3. Using Toolbox 3:
    1. Select the Actions tab and search for "Fluid fill drain"
    2. Select the ODIN routine PROC_THC_X_FLUID-FILL-DRAINvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Stop Fluid Fill/Drain, click on the link of the routine, and then select "Fluid Fill/Drain".
    3. Under "Action", select "Start".
    4. In "Fluid Fill Target", select "Coolant".

    Note
To reduce splashing, do not remove the cap from the coolant reservoir yet.
  8. Disconnect the LH coolant hose from the chiller.
  9. Remove the cap from the coolant reservoir.
  10. Allow the coolant to drain.
  11. Clamp the disconnected LH chiller coolant hose.
  12. Connect the Pack Enclosure Leak Tester to the Coolant Reservoir Adapter, and then install the Coolant Reservoir Adapter onto the reservoir.
  13. Make sure the outlet valve on the Pack Enclosure Leak Tester is closed (the handle is perpendicular to the valve).
  14. Connect the Pack Enclosure Leak Tester to a compressed air line.
  15. Set the pressure regulator on the Pack Enclosure Leak Tester to 5 psi (0.34 Bar).

    CAUTION
Do not exceed 5 psi (0.34 bar) or damage to the HV battery might occur.
  16. Slowly open the outlet valve on the leak tester. When enough coolant has been removed so that the flow has been reduced to a slow drip, close the outlet valve.
  17. Remove the clamp from the LH chiller coolant hose.
  18. Clamp the RH chiller coolant hose. Do not disconnect the RH chiller coolant hose from the chiller.
  19. Slowly open the outlet valve on the leak tester. When enough coolant has been removed so that the flow has been reduced to a slow drip, close the outlet valve.
  20. Remove the clamp from the RH chiller coolant hose.
  21. Reconnect the LH chiller coolant hose.
  22. Install the front aero shield.
