1. Open all four doors

   

   

2. Lower all four windows

   

3. Open hood
   Note

   Via Controls > Front Trunk

   

   

   

   

4. Open charge port door
   Note

   via Controls > Charging > Open Charge Port

   

5. Open liftgate

   

6. Remove parcel shelf

   

7. Remove trunk load floor

   

8. Remove trunk sill panel
   Note

   4x clips, 4x guides

   

   

   

9. Remove LH rear C-pillar trim
   Note

   1x screw, T25, 3 Nm, 4x clips

   

   

10. Remove LH trunk side garnish trim
    Note

    2x clips, 1x guide

    

    

11. Remove trunk floor carpet
    Note

    4x fir tree clips

    

    

12. Remove LH trunk side trim panel
    Note

    1x fir clip

    

    

13. Remove rear underhood apron
    Note

    8x clips

    

    

14. Remove RH underhood apron
    Note

    9x clips

    

    

15. Remove LH underhood apron
    Note

    9x clips, (*Use this step for Model S Refresh procedures)

    

    

16. Release primary and secondary drain tubes from cabin intake duct assembly
    Note

    2x hoses

    

    

17. Release cabin intake duct assembly from cowl panel
    Note

    3x push clips

    

18. Remove cabin intake duct assembly
    Note

    2x clips, one on each side

    

    

19. Remove HEPA filter outlet duct
    Note

    Lift up, Pull towards front of vehicle, Then rotate clockwise

    

    

20. Power off vehicle via UI
    Note

    Via Controls > Safety > Power Off

    

    

21. Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
    Note

    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

    

22. Verify operation of multimeter
    Note

    Set multimeter to DC voltage, Confirm multimeter is properly measuring voltage by testing the 12v battery

    

23. Remove all items from pockets and ensure not wearing metal items

    

24. Inspect HV insulating gloves
    Note

    Check gloves for damage prior to use, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003, for information on inspecting HV gloves. https://service.teslamotors.com/documents?model=&keys=TN-15-92-003&vehicle_system=&sort_by=field_date_submitted&sort_order=DESC

    

25. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves
    Note

    Use HV cut resistant insulated gloves or HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves, HV Insulating gloves must be worn any time a Hioki Tester or Hi-Pot Tester is used, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003 R5 for PPE requirements depending on vehicle configuration.

    

26. Verify there is no high voltage present at the charge port on the type 2 (AC charge inlet)
    Note

    Make sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage component, Be sure to place the positive test lead on the side of the HV pin just past the plastic protective covers Measure the the voltage between the four dead front pins to each other and then between B+ (the four dead front pins) to B- (use trunk striker bolt as a ground for the isolation check), If voltage is greater than 10V, pack contactors are welded or not open, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering

    

    

    

27. Remove leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves

    

28. Release edge clips securing manual release cables to charge port assembly
    Note

    2x clips

    

29. Release logic connector from chargeport assembly
    Note

    1x connector, Fully remove white locking tab before disconnecting

    

    

30. Release AC 3 phase connector from chargeport assembly
    Note

    1x connector, Release locking tab upward

    

    

31. Install silicone rubber to AC 3 phase connector
    Note

    4x patch, Cut silicone rubber, 10mm section, tear off back glue, and then neatly stick to specified area of connector

    

    

    

    

32. Install AC 3 phase connector to charge port assembly
    Note

    1x connector, Slide downward to engage

    

33. Install logic connector to charge port assembly
    Note

    1x connector, Make sure connector is fully locked

    

34. Secure edge clips holding manual release cables to dual charge port assembly housing
    Note

    2x clips

    

35. Install rear trunk side trim panel
    Note

    1x clip

    

36. Install trunk floor carpet
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

37. Install LH trunk side garnish trim
    Note

    2x clips

    

    

38. Install LH rear C-pillar trim
    Note

    1x screw, T25, 3 Nm, 4x clips

    

    

39. Install trunk sill panel
    Note

    4x clips, 4x guides

    

    

    

40. Install trunk load floor

    

41. Install parcel shelf

    

42. Close liftgate

    

43. Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal
    Note

    1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, Connect First Responder Loop first

    

44. Install HEPA filter outlet duct

    

    

45. Install cabin intake duct assembly
    Note

    2x tabs, One on each side

    

    

46. Install cabin intake duct assembly to cowl panel
    Note

    3x push clips

    

47. Install primary and secondary drain tubes to cabin intake duct assembly
    Note

    2x hoses

    

    

48. Install RH underhood apron
    Note

    9x clips

    

    

49. Install LH underhood apron
    Note

    9x clips

    

    

50. Install rear underhood apron
    Note

    8x clips

    

    

51. Close hood
    Note

    Press firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

    

    

    

    

52. Verify operation of charging system
    Note

    Confirm that AC and DC charging are ok

    

53. Raise all four windows

    

54. Close all doors
