Brake Rotor - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

If the vehicle has air suspension, activate "Jack" mode on the touchscreen before raising and supporting the vehicle.

Removal

  1. Remove the electric parking brake caliper (refer to procedure).
  2. If the brake pads are being replaced, remove them from the caliper (refer to procedure).

    If the pads are not being replaced, continue this procedure.
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the caliper to the knuckle (torque 120 Nm).

    CAUTION
    The caliper must be supported to prevent damage to the brake line.
  4. Release the caliper and use the S-hook to support it.
  5. Remove the screw that secures the brake rotor to the hub then remove the brake rotor (torque 17 Nm).

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

CAUTION
Ensure that the brake hose is aligned correctly, without excessive twists or bends.

CAUTION
Replace all patchbolt(s).
  • Clean the mating surfaces of the hub and rotor.
  • Pump the brake pedal at least 5 times to set the pads against the brake rotor.

    Always check that the brake pads are seated correctly before driving the vehicle.
  • Check for proper electronic park brake operation.
  • Burnish the brake pads. See Brake Pads - Burnishing.
