Glare Shield - 2nd Generation Autopilot (Remove and Replace)

Removal
- Remove the rear view mirror (refer to procedure).

Release the clips that secure the mirror cover.

Disconnect the harness connectors.

Release the fasteners that
secure the mount plate (torque 1 Nm). Allow the camera to hang by its
harnesses.
NoteNote the harness routing for proper reinstallation.NoteSome vehicles might have a plastic pitch carrier installed. Remove the pitch carrier.

Release the fasteners that
secure the glare shield to the windshield (torque 1 Nm). Remove the glare
shield from the vehicle.
CAUTIONWhen removing the glare shield, do not allow the light/temperature/humidity sensor to fall out of the plastic carrier.
Installation

If there is no foam tape applied to the glare shield, cut pieces of 6 mm x 30 mm double-sided foam tape and apply them to the glare shield.

Clean the inner windshield
camera viewing area with a clean microfiber cloth and glass cleaner. Let the
windshield fully dry before continuing.
CAUTIONVerify that the windshield has no stains or leftover residue. Otherwise, Autopilot features may be hindered.
- Install the glare shield on to the windshield (torque 1 Nm).
- Install the mount plate (torque 1 Nm), making sure the harnesses are properly routed.
- If the vehicle had a pitch carrier installed, install a new pitch carrier of the same color.

Connect the harnesses and route them as shown. Affix the connectors to the double-sided foam tape on the underside of the glare shield.
1 Connectors affixed to double-sided foam tape 2 Red and black wires routed to the LH side of camera 3 Blue and black wires routed forward of camera LH harness 3 Camera RH harness routed towards the RH side of vehicle. - Perform a pre-calibration (refer to procedure).
- Reinstall the mirror cover.
- Reinstall the mirror.
