Prior to disconnection of 12 volt power supply, ensure driver’s door glass is in the fully open position. Failure to follow this instruction could result in vehicle lockout.

If 12 volt power supply is disconnected, do not attempt to open any doors with door glass in closed position. Failure to follow this instruction could result in door glass shatter.

Note
In the event of an airbag or seat belt tensioner deployment, certain airbag and seat belt components must be replaced, and other components must be inspected for damage. Refer to SRS Inspection and Component Replacement for a specific list of items that must be inspected and replaced.

Removal

  1. Open liftgate and both rear doors for access.
  2. Remove 2nd row seat cushion (refer to procedure)
  3. Remove bolt securing seat belt buckle to body (torque 40 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Replace all patchbolt(s).
  4. Remove seat buckle assembly.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

If the component was replaced due to an internal failure:
  1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  3. In Toolbox 3, click Dashboards > Service Tools > DTCs, and then select SDM or RCM depending on the vehicle Restraint Control Type.
  4. Click Read DTCs to display the DTCs.
  5. Power cycle the vehicle.
  6. Click Clear DTCs to clear the DTCs.
  7. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
