Latch - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

  • 2026-09-03: Updated the steps for the 2nd row cushion frame to the steps for the 2nd row cushion and side bolsters.

Removal

  1. Open all doors and lower all windows.
  2. Place the vehicle in Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  3. Low the LH rear window fully.
  4. Move both front seats forward.
  5. Remove the 2nd row seat LH and RH side bolsters. See Bolster - Side - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the 2nd row seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Install).
  7. Fold the 60 seat back into down position.
  8. Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim (8x clips).
  9. Remove the LH middle C-pillar trim (3x clips).
  10. Release the carpet and sound insulation from the rear seat mounting cross member to gain access to the latch manual release lever and cable.
  11. Release the clip from the cross member and feed the cable through the opening.
  12. Remove the closeout panel for the LH rear door latch assembly.
  13. Disconnect the LH rear door latch connector.
  14. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that secure the latch to the C-Pillar (torque 10 Nm).
  15. Remove the LH rear door latch assembly.

Installation

  1. Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
