Bracket - Radar - Front (DAS 1/2) (Remove and Replace)

Removal
-
Pull vehicle into stall, Pop the Frunk
from MCU Prepare the vehicle for lifting: Air suspension vehicles only: Put the vehicle
into Jack mode and roll down LF window.
NoteAll these step could be combine as a one process since we were inside the vehicle and open doors and lower windows at the same times.

Open hood.
NoteUsing MCU touchscreen > Controls > Frunk Trunk.

Remove rear underhood apron.
Note8x clips.
-
Remove LH underhood apron.
Note9x clips.
-
Remove front underhood apron.
Note2x push clips, 7x clips.
-
Peel back the carpeting at the front
and rear of the underhood storage unit. Release the bolts (x4) bolts.
Note8mm Nut (x2)Torque: 4 Nm13mm Bolt (x2)Torque 8Nm.
-
Disconnect emergency hood release and
front light harness.
NoteElectrical Connection (x2).
- Remove under hood storage unit from vehicle.
-
On the RH side rail, disconnect the
front fascia harness connector.
NoteElectrical Connection (x1).
-
Release the edge clip that secures the
fascia harness to the RH active shutter.
NoteEdge Clip (x1).
-
Remove the plastic rivets (x8) that
secure the undershield to the lower valance and 10mm bolts (x2).
NotePlastic Rivet (x8)10mm Bolt (x2)Torque: 4 Nm.

Apply Masking Tape to the both side of
fender to fascia to prevent damage to paint.
-
Remove the bolts that secure the
fascia and applique to the fascia carrier.
Note10mm Bolt (x2)Torque: 4 Nm.
-
Remove the screw that secures the
fascia panel to the LH and RF fender .
NoteT25 Screw (x2)Torque: N/A.
-
Carefully release the fascia from the
LH and RH fender brackets (x2).
-
Remove the fascia assembly. .
NoteNOTE: With assistance, release the fascia panel from the fascia carrier.
-
Remove the radar sensor from bracket,
disconnect the harness on the bottom of the radar sensor.
NoteElectrical Connector (x1)NOTE: Use a trim tool or flathead screwdriver to gently pry up the tab on the top of the inner bracket. Gently release the radar sensor from the bracket.

Remove bolts from radar sensor
bracket. .
Note10mm Bolt (x4)Torque: N/A.

Remove radar bracket. Push up bracket,
tilt bottom bracket outward about 20 degree and remove bracket from the mounting
bracket.
Installation
-
Install radar bracket. Push up
bracket, tilt bottom bracket about 20 degree and insert bracket into the mounting
bracket.

Install bolts (x4) securing radar
sensor bracket.
NoteNo Torque spec available.
-
Install the radar connector first onto
the bottom of the radar sensor before mount the sensor.
-
Install the fascia assembly. .
NoteNOTE: With assistance, mount the fascia panel to the fascia carrier.
-
Carefully install the fascia from the
LH and RH fender bracket.
-
Install the screw (x2) that secures
the fascia panel to the LH front and RF fender .
NoteT25 Screw (x2)Torque: .
-
install the bolts (x2) that secure the
fascia and applique to the fascia carrier .
Note10mm Bolt (x2)Torque: 4 Nm.

Install On the RH side connect the
front fascia harness connector.
NoteElectrical Connector (x1).
-
Install the edge clip that secures the
fascia harness to the RH active shutter.
NoteEdge Clip (x1).
-
Install the plastic rivets (x8) and
bolts (x2) that secure the undershield to the lower valance.
NotePlastic Rivet (x8)10mm Bolt (x2)Torque: 4 Nm.

Install the under hood storage unit in
vehicle.
NoteNOTE: Push wiring harness grommet back through under hood storage unit.

Connect emergency hood release and
front light harness.
NoteElectrical Connector (x2).
-
Peel back the carpeting at the front
and rear of the under hood storage unit. Install the (x4) bolts .
Note8mm Nut (x2)Torque: 4 Nm13mm Bolt (x2)Torque: 8 Nm.
- Install underhood storage carpet under seal.
-
Install front underhood apron.
Note2x push clips, 7x clips.
-
Install LH and RH underhood side
aprons.
-
Install rear underhood apron.
Note8x clips.
- Remove masking tape from both fenders.
-
Close hood .
NotePress firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood.
- Enter vehicle and deactivate Jack Mode.
-
Remove the under-screen cubby tray to
access to Data Cable.
- Connect laptop to vehicle.
-
Perform four wheel alignment.
Note- Per FRT 31000100.

Inspect vertical alignment of radar
(while vehicle is still on alignment rack).
NoteGently hold the short side of the bubble tool flat against the upper center portion of the radar sensor face, Make sure that the bubble tool is against the sensor gasket, If the bubble is not centered between the lines on the long side of the bubble tool, adjust the vertical alignment screw until the bubble is centered.

Adjust vertical alignment. If
necessary, adjust the vertical set screw.
NoteAdjustment screw 1 = Horizontal alignment, Adjustment screw 2 = Vertical alignment, Radar calibration bubble level should be between the two lines.
- Go to Driver Assist panel and select Radar Service Drive Alignment.Perform the Radar Service Drive Alignment (SDA) procedure:.

Select Next and follow on screen
instructions Adjust horizontal alignment if necessaryPerform Radar Service Drive
alignment again if horizontal alignment necessary.
Note.
- Disconnect laptop.
- Reinstall under screen cubby storage.
- Exit vehicle.
