Powertrain Coolant Pump 2 (Remove and Replace)
Correction Code 18308202 Correction Code 18308402
Choose the appropriate procedure based on the vehicle's configuration and
date of manufacture:
- Vehicles built through April 10, 2016, refer to 1st Generation
- Vehicles built after April 10, 2016, refer to 2nd Generation
Coolant pump locations:

1st Generation
Removal
Correction Code 18308202
- Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
- Remove the HV battery (refer to procedure).
- Place suitable absorbent material beneath the pump.

Clamp and release the 2 coolant hoses.
- Release the bolts (x2) that secure the coolant pump bracket to the body (torque 7 Nm). Support the pump and disconnect the low voltage connector.
- Remove the pump from the bracket.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
- Clean any spilled coolant.
- When all components have been reinstalled, refill and bleed the cooling system. See Cooling System - Partial Refill and Bleed.
2nd Generation
Removal
Correction Code 18308402
- Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
- Remove the 2nd row seat cushion (refer to procedure).

Dual Motor vehicles only: Release the fasteners (x4) that secure the
inline fuse bracket to the seat frame (torque 5 Nm).

Remove the bolts (x8) that secure the seat frame to the body (torque 26
Nm).
Tip: If the seat frame is being removed for access, it might not be necessary to remove it from the vehicle. Instead, lift up on the frame and temporarily secure it to the 2nd row seat backrest.

Remove all clips that secure cables to the 2nd row seat frame. Ensure that
all cables are reattached to the seat frame upon reinstallation.
CAUTIONDo not damage any cables.
- Lift up the bottom of the seat frame and support it to provide access to the working area.

Disconnect the harness from the pump.
- Clamp the 2 coolant hoses that lead to the pump.
- Place absorbent material beneath the coolant hoses to catch any coolant that is spilled in a later step.
- Release both coolant hoses from the pump.

Release the fastener that secures the coolant pump isolator to the body
(torque 5.5 Nm).
- Remove the coolant pump and isolator from the vehicle as an assembly.
- Remove the coolant pump from the isolator.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
- Clean any spilled coolant.
- When all components have been reinstalled, refill and bleed the cooling system. See Cooling System - Partial Refill and Bleed.
