Correction Code 17012212
-
Open the LH front door and lower
the window.
- Open the front trunk.
-
Release the clips (x9) that
attch the RH underhood apron to the vehicle, and then remove the RH underhood
apron.
-
Remove rear underhood
apron.
-
Remove the particulate filter
and cover, then lift up the RH side of cowl screen panel to access cabin filter
housing.
NotePut a shop rag under the trim to support it, if needed.
-
Remove the bolts (x2) that
secure the front particulate filter housing (torque 1.5 Nm), release the tabs
(x2), and then remove the front particulate filter housing.
-
Remove the nuts (x4) that attach
the rear particulate filter housing and the rubber intake drain diverter to the
vehicle (torque 6 Nm).
- Turn off vehicle power from the touchscreen by touching Controls > Safety & Security > Power off.
-
Disconnect the nut (torque 5 Nm)
that attaches the battery negative terminal to the negative pole of the
battery.
-
Disconnect the first responder
loop.
NoteWait at least 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge
-
Release the tabs (x4) that
attach the battery fuse box cover to the fuse box, and then remove the fuse box
cover.
-
Remove the nut (torque 13 Nm)
that attaches the 12V positive battery supply terminal to the battery fuse
box.
NoteThe thread pitch of this nut is specific for this terminal and should not be mixed up with the 13mm nut for the nearby body harness 12V positive terminal.
-
Remove the nut (torque 12 Nm)
that attaches the DCDC 12V positive terminal to the battery fuse box.
-
Remove the nut (torque 5 Nm)
that attaches the fuse box to the battery strap.
-
Disconnect the SRS Pyrotechnic
fuse at the battery fuse box.
NoteDepress the 2 connector lock tabs, and then gently release the connector.WarningTo avoid personal injury, observe all relevant safety precautions before removing or testing any SRS component(s).
-
Remove the nuts (x7) that attach
the front harness connections to the battery fuse box (torque 5 Nm), and then
release the wire terminals from the fuse box terminals.
NoteMake a note of the orientation of the front harness wires at the fusebox.Tip: To prevent the bolts from falling out of their respective terminals during fuse box removal, put the nuts back on one by one after the respective wire terminal has been removed.
-
Remove the battery fuse box wire
separator from the fuse box.
NoteRelease the tabs on the front and rear of the wire separator, slide away and lift it up from the battery fuse box to release it.
-
Remove the nuts (x5) that attach
the front harness connections to the battery fuse box under the wire separator
cover and release the wire terminals from the fuse box terminals.
NoteThe center green fuse (F82) is for the air suspension compressor. Vehicles with coil suspension do not have a wire connected to fuse F82.NoteMake a note of the orientation of the front harness wires at the fusebox.Tip: To prevent the bolts from falling out of their respective terminals during fuse box removal, put the nuts back on one by one after the respective wire terminal has been removed.
-
Lift up and remove the battery
fuse box from the top of the 12V battery.
Installation
If the pyro fuse studs do not torque properly:
- Clean the base of the pyro fuse studs (x2) with IPA and let dry for 1 minute.
- Install foam gaskets (1453383-00-A) to the base of both pyro fuse studs (2x gaskets on the inboard stud, 3x gaskets on the outboard stud).
- Install a new nyloc nut that attaches the fuse box to the battery strap, making sure the gaskets are touching the top of the battery and support the pyro fuse studs.
