Warning
Make sure 12V power has been disconnected for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting the electrical harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as modules, sensors, airbags, etc. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. For more information on SRS precautions, see Air Bag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions.
  • 2023-12-04: Added step to test the seat ventilation functionality before changing configuration.
  • 2023-09-21: Removed step for running PROC_BCREAR_X_SEAT-INSTALL-MODE-OFFSearch for routine in ToolboxLow Voltage Controllers.

Removal

  1. Remove the 1st row LH seat assembly (refer to procedure).

    CAUTION
If discarding the entire seat, Service Centers must remove the seat-mounted airbag and pre-tensioner (if present) before discarding the seat. Follow local Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) best practices to dispose of the airbag and pre-tensioner (for example, place the airbag and pre-tensioner into the appropriate hazardous waste receptacles located in the Service Center). Refer to Remove the Front Seat Airbag and Discard for instructions, and use Correction Code 20010707 to document the labor; the labor time for destructively removing and disposing of the front seat airbag (and pre-tensioner, if equipped) is not reflected in the front seat removal and replacement labor time.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

    Note
All new seats with seat ventilation are equipped with Kongsberg fans.
    • If the ventilation/heating does not function properly, the configuration parameter must be updated for Kongsberg. Continue to the next step.

      Note
Improper functionality may include a "1" setting causing high ventilation and a "3" setting causing low ventilation (opposite results).
    • If the ventilation/heating is functioning properly, the configuration parameter is already set for Kongsberg. Skip to step 7.
  6. Update the "seat_vent" configuration parameter value as required. See Gateway Configuration (Display and Change).
    Configuration parameter values:
    • 0: NONE (seats not ventilated, not applicable for this procedure)
    • 1: FUTURIS (both front seats Futuris)
    • 2: L_FUTURIS_R_KONGSBERG (LH seat Futuris, RH seat Kongsberg)
    • 3: L_KONGSBERG_R_FUTURIS (LH seat Kongsberg, RH seat Futuris)
    • 4: KONGSBERG (both front seats Kongsberg)
  7. Using Toolbox 3:
    1. Select the Actions tab and search for "Calibrate Memory Seat".
    2. Informational PurposesAn informational icon, calling your attention
      Note
The below ODIN routine should be used for calibration of the driver seat. For calibrating the pasenger seat, use PROC_MSMP_VCSEATP-FRONT-PAS_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEATSearch for routine in ToolboxLow Voltage / Seats - Calibrate Passenger Seat instead.
Select the ODIN routine PROC_MSMD_VCSEATD-FRONT-DRV_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEATSearch for routine in ToolboxLow Voltage / Seats - Calibrate Driver Seat, and then click the link of the routine.
    3. Click RUN, and allow the routine to complete.
