Active Grille Shutter (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  3. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the active grille shutter actuator electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor, and then push the grommet through the front end carrier.
  5. Press the retaining arms on the clip on the ambient air temperature sensor, and then pull the sensor downward to remove it from the vehicle.
  6. Release the locking tabs (x12) and clips (x2) that attach the active grille shutter to the cooling fan module assembly, and then remove the shutter through the front of the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the active grille shutter into the vehicle, and then secure the tabs (x12) and clips (x2) that attach the shutter to the cooling fan module assembly.

    Align the datums before engaging the tabs.

    Make sure the shutter slides inside the tab and not the outside.
  2. Position the ambient air temperature sensor into the vehicle, align the datum with the opening in the active grille shutter assembly, and then install the sensor into the assembly.
  3. Connect the ambient air temperature sensor electrical connector, and then secure the grommet to the active grille shutter.
  4. Connect the active grille shutter actuator electrical connector, and then secure the connector lock.
  5. Install the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
