          procedure.
      
  
Remove
- Move the vehicle to a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
 - Remove the LH and RH front wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
 - Set the steering wheel straight ahead.
 - Place a protector sheet onto the driver seat, and then install the steering wheel lock.
 - Open the hood.
 - 
          Power off the vehicle via
            touchscreen.
          NoteControls > Safety & Security > Power Off
 - Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
 - Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
 - Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
 - Remove the front skid plate. See Skidplate - Front (Remove and Replace).
 - Remove the front fascia valance. See Valance - Front Fascia (Remove and Replace).
 - 
          Slide the red locking tabs, press the
            releases, and then disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the EPAS CAN.
          
 - 
          Slide the red locking tab, press the
            release, and then disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the steering
            rack.
          
 - 
          Release the clips (x3) that attach the
            electrical harness to the front subframe, separate the electrical harness from the
            subframe, and then tuck it up and aside.
          
 - 
          Remove the bolt that attaches the
            steering column intermediate shaft to the steering rack input shaft.
30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 13 mm socket
 
 - 
          Slide the steering column intermediate
            shaft up and off of the steering rack input shaft.
          
 - 
          Pull the red tab, and then pull the
            red tab a second time to disconnect the electrical harness from the LH ANC sensor
            connector.
          
 - 
          Release the clips (x2) that attach the
            LH ANC connection to the LH front knuckle.
          NoteRoute the electrical harness above the front stabilizer bar.
 - 
          Remove and discard the nut that
            attaches the LH front stabilizer bar link to the front stabilizer bar, and then remove
            the link from the stabilizer bar.
70 Nm (51.6 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 15 mm socket
 - 5 mm hex
 
NoteTo prevent ball joint damage, use a 5mm hex wrench to prevent the LH link ball joint stud from turning while removing the nut. - 
          Remove the nut and bolt that attach
            the LH front active damper to the front lower aft link.
140 Nm (103.2 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 21 mm socket
 - 21 mm combination wrench
 
 - 
          Pull the red tab, and then pull the red tab a second time to disconnect the
            electrical harness from the RH ANC sensor connector.
          
 - 
          Release the clips (x2) that attach the
            RH ANC connection to the RH front knuckle.
          NoteRoute the electrical harness above the front stabilizer bar.
 - 
          Remove and discard the nyloc nut that
            attaches the front stabilizer bar link to the RH front stabilizer bar, and then move
              aside.
70 Nm (51.6 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 15 mm socket
 - Torx T40 socket
 
NoteCounterhold the ball joint with a T40.NoteMay need to move the stabilizer bar up/down to get the correct angle needed to remove end link.NoteDiscard the nut after removal. - 
          Remove the nut and bolt that attach the RH front active damper to the front lower aft
              link.
140 Nm (103.2 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 21 mm socket
 - 21 mm combination wrench
 
 - 
          Break loose the front subframe bolts,
            but do not remove the bolts at this time.
          Note
Torque specifications:
Depending on the vehicle manufacture date, the bolts might be as follows:
- Front-most bolts (16 mm or 18
                    mm):
- M12 1.75x75 bolt (1063242-00-B) and M12x24x2.5 washer (1103852-00-A): 80 Nm
 - M12-1.75x115 bolt (1608611-00-C ): 80 Nm
 
 - Middle bolts (18 mm): 80 Nm
 - Rear-most bolts (21 mm):
- M14 2.0x58 bolt (1133941-00-C): 115 Nm
 - M14 2.0x67 bolt (1638540-00-A): 145 Nm
 
 
 - Front-most bolts (16 mm or 18
                    mm):
 - 
          Remove the rear-most subframe bolts
            with a battery-powered drill.
          Note21 mm: 115 Nm or 145 Nm
 - 
          Remove the forward-most bolts (x2)
            from the subframe fixture (1066521-00-A, 1657054-00-A).
          NoteThe bolts will interfere with the subframe if they are not removed. Return the bolts to the subframe fixture when finished with this procedure.
 - 
          Move the subframe lifting tool to
            underneath the front subframe area.
          
 - 
          Connect the shop supply air to the
            subframe lifting tool.
          
 - 
          With the help of an assistant, raise
            the powertrain table and subframe fixture into position.
          NoteThe lower aft links will rest on the fixture.
 - 
          Remove the remaining front subframe
            bolts with a battery-powered drill.
          Note16 mm or 18 mm: 80 NmNoteTake note of fastener positions for installation.
 - 
          With an assistant, partially lower the
            front subframe from vehicle less than 7 cm.
          CAUTIONMake sure that the front subframe stays in contact with the subframe fixture.
 - 
          Remove and discard the nuts (x4) that
            attach the front stabilizer bar to the front subframe.
50 Nm (36.9 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 15 mm socket
 
NoteUse a regular ratchet to break the nuts loose and a stubby ratchet to remove the nuts.NoteDiscard the nuts after removal. - 
          Remove the brackets (x2) from the
            front stabilizer bar.
          
 - 
          Remove the front stabilizer bar from
            the vehicle:
          
- Guide the RH side of the stabilizer bar over the tie rod and front subframe mount, and then rotate counterclockwise to negotiate around the air suspension compressor.
 - Guide the LH side of stabilizer bar over the tie rod and front subframe mount, and then negotiate around the horn assembly.
 
Note - 
          Remove the brackets (x2) from the
            front stabilizer bar.
          
 
Install
- 
          Install the front stabilizer bar onto
            the vehicle:
          
- Negotiate the LH side of the front stabilizer bar around the horn assembly, and then guide over the front subframe mount and tie rod.
 - Negotiate the RH side of the front stabilizer bar around the air suspension compressor, and then guide over the front subframe mount and tie rod.
 
Note - 
          Apply a thin layer of Molykote M-77 to
            the front stabilizer bar bushings to facilitate bracket installation.
          
 - 
          Install the brackets (x2) onto the
            front stabilizer bar.
          CAUTIONDo not use a prytool to force the bushing.NoteMake sure the bushing tabs slide over the bracket windows and the bushing gaps are even on both sides of the bushing.
 - 
          Install new nuts (x4) that attach the
            front stabilizer bar to the front subframe.
50 Nm (36.9 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 15 mm socket
 
CAUTIONDo not use a prytool to force the bushing.NoteMake sure the bushing tabs slide over the bracket windows and bushing gaps are even on both sides of the bushing. - 
          With an assistant, raise the front
            subframe onto the vehicle.
          NoteAlign the LH and RH lower aft links with the air spring modules to prevent damage.
 - 
          Hand-tighten the bolts located at the
            front of the front subframe.
          NoteDepending on the vehicle manufacture date, the front-most bolts might be as follows (16 mm or 18 mm):
- M12 1.75x75 bolt (1063242-00-B) and M12x24x2.5 washer (1103852-00-A)
 - M12-1.75x115 bolt (1608611-00-C )
 
NoteHand-tighten the bolts, and then use a battery powered drill to continue fastening the bolts. Do not tighten fully. Fully tighten the bolts at later step. - 
          Lower the subframe lift, disconnect
            the shop supply air, and move the lift out from under the vehicle.
          
 - 
          Hand-tighten the rear bolts of the
            front subframe.
          Note21 mm. Depending on the vehicle manufacture date, the rear bolts might be as follows:
- M14 2.0x58 (1133941-00-C)
 - M14 2.0x67 (1638540-00-A)
 
NoteHand-tighten the bolts, and then use a battery powered drill to continue fastening the bolts. Do not tighten fully. Fully tighten the bolts at later step. - 
          Tighten the front subframe
            bolts.
          Note16 mm or 18 mm bolts: 80 NmNote21 mm bolts: Depending on the vehicle manufacture date, the torque rating of the bolts is as follows:
- M14 2.0x58 (1133941-00-C): 115 Nm
 - M14 2.0x67 (1638540-00-A): 145 Nm
 
 - 
          Install and hand tighten the nut and
            bolt that attach the RH front active damper to the front lower aft link.
          TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 21 mm socket
 - 21 mm combination wrench
 
NoteThe nut and bolt will be torqued during the alignment check. - 
          Install the RH front stabilizer bar
            link into the front stabilizer bar, and then install a new nyloc nut that attaches the
            link to the stabilizer bar.
70 Nm (51.6 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 15 mm socket
 - 5 mm hex
 
NoteTo prevent ball joint damage, use a 5 mm hex wrench to prevent the LH link ball joint stud from turning while installing the nut. - 
          Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the RH ANC connection to the RH front
            knuckle.
          
 - 
          Connect the electrical harness to the
            RH ANC sensor connector, and then push in the red locking tab to secure the
            connection.
          
 - 
          Install and hand tighten the nut and bolt that attach the LH front active damper to
            the front lower aft link.
          TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 21 mm socket
 - 21 mm combination wrench
 
NoteThe nut and bolt will be torqued during the alignment check. - 
          Install the LH front stabilizer bar link into the front stabilizer bar, and then
            install the nyloc nut that attaches the link to the stabilizer bar.
70 Nm (51.6 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 15 mm socket
 - 5 mm hex

          Fasten the clips (x2) that attach the

          Slide the steering column intermediate
            shaft down and onto the steering rack input shaft.
          
 - 
          Install the bolt that attaches the
            steering column intermediate shaft to the steering rack input shaft.
30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 13 mm socket
 
 - 
          Bring the electrical harness to the
            front subframe, and then fasten the clips (x3) that attach the electrical harness to the
            subframe.
          
 - 
          Connect the steering rack electrical
            connectors (x2), and then slide the red locking tab.
          Note2 stage connectors. Make sure that the locking tab is engaged after an audible click is heard when connecting.
 - 
          Connect the electrical harness to the
            EPAS CAN connectors (x2), and then slide the red locking tabs.
          
 - Install the front fascia valance. See Valance - Front Fascia (Remove and Replace).
 - Install the front skid plate. See Skidplate - Front (Remove and Replace).
 - Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
 - Install the LH and RH front wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
 - Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
 - Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
 - 
          Calibrate the rear doors.
          NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
 - Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
