Link - Aft - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

  • 2024-10-24: Deleted steps for ride height measurement.
  • 2024-07-08: Added note to ensure vehicle ride height is set to "Medium" and in "Jack Mode" during install.
  • 2024-03-07: Added a step of discarding the rotor bolt after removal and deleted the step of installing the rotor bolt.

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift
  2. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear upper aft link to the subframe.

    • 16 mm socket
  4. Remove the clip that attaches the wire harness to the knuckle.
  5. Remove the wire harness from the bracket.
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear upper aft link to the knuckle.

  7. Remove the LH rear upper aft link from the vehicle.

    CAUTION
    Carefully remove the upper aft link to avoid damage to the wiring harness.

Install

  1. Position the LH upper aft link to the knuckle, and install the bolt that attaches the link to the knuckle.

    The bolt will be torqued at a later step.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH upper aft link to the subframe.
    85 Nm (62.7 lbs-ft)

  3. Position the clip that attaches the wiring harness to the knuckle.
  4. Install the wiring harness into the bracket.
  5. If installed, remove and discard the bolt that attaches the brake rotor to the hub.

  6. Torque the bolt that attaches the LH rear upper aft link to the knuckle and mark it with a paint pen.
    150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)

  7. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  8. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  9. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
