Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Move the driver seat rearward.
  3. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace)
  4. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Remove the screw that attaches the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.

    • T20 socket
  8. Remove and discard the nut that attaches the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.

    • 13 mm socket
  9. Release the clips (x6) that attach the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle, disconnect the electrical connector, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.

    Note
    Release the clips, and then rotate the trim inboard to access the connector.

    Note
    Release the datums upward and out of the instrument panel sub assembly.

Install

  1. Position the LH upper A-pillar trim into the vehicle, connect the electrical connector and secure the harness, and then secure the clips (x6) that attach the trim to the vehicle.

    Align the datums into the instrument panel sub assembly.

    Note
    Rotate trim into position to full engage the clips.
  2. Install a new nut that attaches the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    • 13 mm socket
  3. Install the screw that attaches the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

    • T20 socket
  4. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH upper A-pillar trim to the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

  5. Install the LH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace)
  8. Move the driver seat to the original position.
  9. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
