Door Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH and RH front windows.
  2. Remove the LH front door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH front door trim reflector. See Reflector - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH front door closeout panel. See Closeout Panel - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH front door glass. See Door Glass - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Remove the LH front door pressure sensor. See GUID-9BD483F8-8848-47E0-9255-7F73DBFEAA25.html.
  10. Release the fir tree clip that attaches the cables to the door.
  11. Disconnect the LH front door latch electrical connector.
  12. Disconnect the LH window motor electrical connector.
  13. Disconnect the LH door mirror electrical connector.
  14. Disconnect LH front door module electrical connectors (x3).
  15. Remove the LH front door speaker. See Speaker - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH front door speaker adapter ring.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  17. Release the clips (x9) that attach the LH front door electrical harness to the door.
  18. Remove the LH front window motor/regulator assembly. See Window Motor/Regulator Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the grab handle bracket to the door.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

  20. Remove the LH front door pop actuator. See Pop Actuator - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  21. Remove the LH front door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  22. Remove the LH front door inner belt seal. See Seal - Inner Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  23. Remove the LH door mirror assembly. See Door Mirror Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).
  24. Remove the LH front door fixed glass. See Fixed Glass - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  25. Remove the LH front door exterior release handle. See Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Front - LH (Remove & Replace).
  26. Remove the LH front door latch. See Latch - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  27. Remove the LH front door drive unit. See Front Door Drive Unit - LH (Remove and Replace).
  28. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  29. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  30. Remove the LH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  31. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  32. Remove the LH front door harness. See Harness - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  33. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH upper front door hinge to the LH front door.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

  34. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH lower front door hinge to the LH front door.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

  35. With an assistant, remove the LH front door.

Install

CAUTION
If using this procedure to install an unpainted part, make sure to apply seam sealer to all seams prior to installing and painting the part. Refer to the Collision Repair manual for more information.
  1. With an assistant, install the LH front door.
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH lower front door hinge to the LH front door.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

    • 12 mm combination wrench flex head
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH upper front door hinge to the LH front door.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

  4. Install the LH front door harness. See Harness - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the LH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH front door drive unit. See Front Door Drive Unit - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the LH front door latch. See Latch - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH front door exterior release handle. See Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Front - LH (Remove & Replace).
  12. Install the LH front window motor/regulator assembly. See Window Motor/Regulator Assembly - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH front door fixed glass. See Fixed Glass - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the LH door mirror assembly. See Door Mirror Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the LH front door inner belt seal. See Seal - Inner Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH front door outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the LH front door pop actuator. See Pop Actuator - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the grab handle bracket to the door.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

  19. Install the LH front door speaker. See Speaker - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Connect the LH front door module electrical connectors (x3), and then fasten the clip.
  21. Install the LH front door pressure sensor. See GUID-9BD483F8-8848-47E0-9255-7F73DBFEAA25.html.
  22. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  23. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  24. Install the LH front door glass. See Door Glass - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  25. Install the LH front door closeout panel. See Closeout Panel - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  26. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  27. Install the LH front door trim reflector. See Reflector - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  28. Install the LH front door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  29. Close the LH front door.
  30. Check the gap/flush fitment of LH front door decor to the IP décor.

    Note
    Refer to CVIS for current spec.
  31. Open the LH front door.
  32. Remove the LH front door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  33. Adjust the LH front door trim.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T30 socket
    • 18 mm socket

    Note
    Loosen the T30 and rotate the nut to achieve desired spec. Rotate clockwise to close gap and rotate counterclockwise to tighten gap.

    Tighten the T30 fastener to lock.
  34. Install the LH front door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  35. Press the LH front window switch down to the second position to activate the auto-lower function, and then raise the window completely to activate the auto-raise function.

    Note
    If the window does not lower completely, repeat previous calibration steps.
  36. Raise the LH and RH front windows.
  37. Close the LH front door.
