Latch and Actuator Assembly - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

  • 2025-05-14: Updated torque value for door latch cover to 12 Nm.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the front windows.
  2. Remove the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH rear door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Set the LH rear door at a comfortable working height.
  6. Apply masking tape around the LH rear door lower latch cover to mark the position of the latch.
  7. Remove and discard the screws (x2) that attach the LH rear door lower latch cover to the vehicle, and then remove the cover from the vehicle.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)

    • T30 socket
  8. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Release the orange locking tab, and then disconnect the LH falcon wing door air bag electrical connector.
  10. Remove the screws (x10) that attach the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

  11. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the LH rear window motor to the LH rear door closeout panel.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T30 socket
  12. Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door, pull the closeout panel away from door, and then lift the window motor upward to release it.
  13. Release the black locking tab, and then disconnect the LH falcon wing door protection ECU.
  14. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the LH falcon wing door module.
  15. Release the clips (x7) that attach the harnesses and connectors to the LH rear door closeout panel.
  16. Release the clip, and then feed the door release cable through the LH rear door closeout panel.
  17. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH rear door speaker to the door assembly, disconnect the harness electrical connector, and then remove the speaker assembly from the vehicle.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

  18. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the LH rear door cinching actuator to the LH rear door, and then lift the actuator upward to release it from the door.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)

    • 10mm socket
  19. Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH rear door latch shroud to the vehicle, and then remove the shroud from the vehicle.
  20. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x2), and then remove the LH rear door latch and actuator assembly from the LH rear door.

Install

  1. Position the LH rear door latch and actuator assembly into the LH rear door, and then connect the electrical connectors (x2)..
  2. Position the LH rear door latch shroud into the vehicle, and then secure the tabs (x2) that attach the shroud to the vehicle.
  3. Position the LH rear door cinching actuator assembly into the LH rear door, and then install the nuts (x3) that attach the actuator assembly to the door.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)

  4. Position the LH rear door lower latch cover into the vehicle, and then install new screws (x2) that attach the cover to the vehicle.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)

    Make sure the latch cover lines up with tape marks.

  5. Remove the masking tape around the LH rear door lower latch cover.
  6. Position the LH rear door speaker into the door assembly, connect the harness electrical connector, and then install the bolts (x4) that attach the speaker assembly to the vehicle.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

  7. Feed the door release cable through the LH rear door closeout panel, and then secure the clip.

    Note
    Lubricate the cable grommet to aid in installation.
  8. Position the LH rear door window motor onto the back of the closeout panel, and then secure the tabs that attach the motor to the closeout panel.
  9. Install the screws (x3) that attach the LH rear window motor to the LH rear door closeout panel.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

  10. Install the screws (x10) that attach the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T25 socket
  11. Connect the LH falcon wing door protection ECU electrical connector, and then engage the locking tab.
  12. Connect the LH falcon wing door air bag electrical connector, and then engage the orange locking tab.
  13. Connect the electrical connectors (x2) to the LH falcon wing door module.
  14. Install the clips (x7) that attach the harnesses and connectors to the LH rear door closeout panel.
  15. Install the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  16. Install the LH rear door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  19. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  20. Calibrate the rear doors.

    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors
  21. Raise the front windows and close the LH front door.
