Latch - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH front door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Connect a window switch tool to the LH front door harness, and then raise the LH front window fully.

    Note
    Connect door panel x927 if the switch kit is not available.
  4. Disconnect the LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the harness electrical connector from the LH front door pressure sensor.

    Note
    Do not push down on red tab. Pull the red tab to disengage lock, and then pull again to release the connector.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the LH front door release motor.
  7. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH front door harness to the LH front door closeout panel.
  8. Release the clips (x3) that attach the LH front door release motor to the LH front door closeout panel, release the release cable, and then remove the release motor from the closeout panel.
  9. Push the LH front door release motor cable grommet into the LH front door closeout panel.
  10. Push the LH front door interior door handle release cable grommet into the LH front door closeout panel.
  11. Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the LH front door closeout panel to the door assembly.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  12. Release the latch cables (x2) from the clips on the backside of the LH front door closeout panel.
  13. Release the tab, and then remove the cinch motor from LH front door closeout panel.
  14. Disconnect the cinch motor electrical connector.
  15. Release the fir tree clip that attaches the cables to the LH front door.
  16. Remove the nut that attaches the LH rear window lower window regulator mounting stud to the door assembly, and then push the regulator into the door.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

    • 10mm socket
  17. Disconnect the LH front door latch electrical connector.
  18. Remove and discard the bolts (x3) that attach the LH front door latch to the door assembly, and then remove the latch from the door assembly.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Move the window regulator aside to allow the latch to fit through the closeout opening.

    • T30 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH front door latch into the door assembly, and then install new bolts (x3) that attach the latch to the door assembly.
    12 Nm (8.8 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Push the window regulator into the door to allow the latch to fit through the closeout opening.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T30 socket
  2. Connect the LH front door latch electrical connector.
  3. Install the nut that attaches the LH rear window lower window regulator mounting stud to the door assembly.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
  4. Install the fir tree clip that attaches the cables to the LH front door.
  5. Connect the cinch motor electrical connector.
  6. Slide the cinch motor onto the LH front door closeout panel, and then secure the tab to lock it into position.

    Note
    Make sure there is an audible click when the cinch motor is locked into position.
  7. Feed the interior door handle release cable through the closeout panel, and then install the grommet.
  8. Feed the release motor cable through the closeout panel, and then install the grommet.
  9. Install the latch cable clips (x2) on the backside of the LH front door closeout panel.

    Note
    Make sure tabs on the rear and bottom edges are seated.
  10. Position the LH front door closeout panel onto the LH front door.

  11. Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the LH front door closeout panel to the door assembly.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  12. Position the LH front door release motor into the LH front door closeout panel, install the release cable to the release motor, and then install the clips (x3) that attach the release motor to the closeout panel.
  13. Connect the release motor electrical connector.
  14. Connect the harness electrical connector to the LH front door pressure sensor.
  15. Connect the LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  16. Fully lower the LH front window, and then disconnect the window switch special tool.
  17. Install the clips (x4) that attach the LH front door harness to the LH front door closeout panel.
  18. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the LH front door trim decor. See .
