Toe Link Assembly - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift
  2. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear toe link to the knuckle.

  4. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear ride height sensor to the suspension link.

    • 10 mm socket
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH ride height sensor to the vehicle, and move the sensor to the side.

  6. While supporting the LH rear knuckle, remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear toe link to the subframe, and remove the toe link from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the LH rear toe link into the vehicle, and then install and hand-tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear toe link to the subframe.

  2. Install and hand-tighten the bolt that attaches the LH rear toe link to the knuckle.

  3. Torque the bolts that attach the LH rear toe link to the subframe.
    85 Nm (62.7 lbs-ft)

  4. Move the LH rear ride height sensor into position, and then install the bolt that attaches the sensor to the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

  5. Install the bolt that attaches the LH ride height sensor to the suspension link.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

  6. If installed, remove and discard the bolt that attaches the brake rotor to the hub.

    A new bolt will not be installed.

  7. Install a hub jack adapter onto the LH rear hub, and then use a support stand to support the LH rear suspension at ride height (85 mm +/- 5 mm).

    Measure the distance from the upper fore link to the bolt on the frame rail to make sure LH suspension is set to ride height.

  8. Torque the bolt that attaches the LH rear lower fore link to the knuckle and mark it with a paint pen.
    150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)

  9. Lower the support stand until the suspension is unladen, then remove it from the vehicle.
  10. Remove the hub jack adapter from the hub.
  11. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  12. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  13. Adjust the vehicle ride height. See Ride Height (Adjust).
  14. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
