Switch - Rear Door - Door Mounted - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the front windows.
  2. Open the LH falcon wing door.
  3. Remove the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH rear door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Set the LH falcon wing door at a comfortable working height.
  7. Open the hood.
  8. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Release the orange locking tab, and then disconnect the LH falcon wing door air bag electrical connector.
  10. Remove the screws (x10) that attach the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  11. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the LH rear window motor to the LH rear door closeout panel.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  12. Release the tabs (x2) that attach the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door, pull the closeout panel away from door, and then lift the window motor upward to release it.
  13. Release the black locking tab, and then disconnect the LH falcon wing door protection ECU.
  14. Disconnect the electrical connectors (x2) from the LH falcon wing door module.
  15. Release the clips (x7) that attach the harnesses and connectors to the LH rear door closeout panel.
  16. Release the clip, and then feed the door release cable through the LH rear door closeout panel.
  17. Disconnect the LH door mounted rear door switch.
  18. While holding the electrical connector, rotate the black fastener counter-clockwise until the LH door mounted rear door switch is loose, and then pull the switch through the exterior of the LH rear door.

    Note
    The electrical connector is part of the switch assembly.

Install

  1. Position the LH door mounted rear door switch into the LH rear door, and then install the black fastener.
  2. Connect the LH door mounted rear door switch electrical connector.
  3. Feed the door release cable through the LH rear door closeout panel, and then secure the clip.

    Note
    Lubricate the cable grommet to aid in installation.
  4. Position the LH rear door window motor onto the back of the closeout panel, and then secure the tabs that attach the motor to the closeout panel.
  5. Install the screws (x3) that attach the LH rear window motor to the LH rear door closeout panel.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T30 socket
  6. Install the screws (x10) that attach the LH rear door closeout panel to the LH rear door.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  7. Connect the LH falcon wing door protection ECU electrical connector, and then engage the locking tab.
  8. Connect the LH falcon wing door air bag electrical connector, and then engage the orange locking tab.
  9. Connect the electrical connectors (x2) to the LH falcon wing door module.
  10. Install the clips (x7) that attach the harnesses and connectors to the LH rear door closeout panel.
  11. Install the LH rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the LH rear door trim decor. See Decor - Trim - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  15. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  16. Close the hood.
  17. Calibrate the rear doors.

    Note
    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors
  18. Raise the LH and RH front windows and close the LH front door.
