Fixed Glass - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

CAUTION
New glass components (windshield, roof, door, and fixed glass) must be inspected before installation to meet Tesla’s internal standards of quality. Perform the inspection described in Pre-Installation Glass Inspection before beginning this procedure.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Release the clips (x9) and grommet that attach the LH inner belt molding to the vehicle, and then release the molding from the vehicle.
  5. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH front fixed glass to the door assembly, and then remove the glass from the assembly.
    4.5 Nm (3.3 lbs-ft)

Install

  1. Position the LH front fixed glass onto the door assembly, and then install the bolts (x4) that attach the glass to the assembly.

  2. Position the LH inner belt molding onto the vehicle, and then secure the clips (x9) and grommet that attach the molding to the vehicle.

    Note
    Make sure the inner belt seal is properly seated onto the door assembly.
  3. Install the LH outer belt seal. See Seal - Outer Belt - Front Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
