Wiper Blades (Adjust)

Procedure

  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Lower the LH front window.
  3. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Wiper Service Mode.
  4. Remove the LH driver side wiper blade. See Wiper Blades - Pair (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the wiper adjustment tool on the LH wiper arm.

    Note
    Tighten the thumb screw to secure the tool to the LH wiper arm. Ensure the thumb screw is not overtightened as marring will occur to wiper arm, and that both plastic points are resting on the windshield.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

  6. Check the LH wiper arm angle and adjust as needed.

    Note
    Spec: +4 degrees +/-3 degrees

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Combination wrench 12pt 24mm
    • M3/Y Wiper adjustment tool - 1448466-00-A
  7. Remove the wiper adjustment tool from the LH wiper arm.

    CAUTION
    Place a towel or shop rag under the wiper arm to prevent scratches on the windshield.
  8. Install the LH driver side wiper blade. See Wiper Blades - Pair (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the RH passenger side wiper blade. See Wiper Blades - Pair (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the wiper adjustment tool on the RH wiper arm.

    Note
    Tighten the thumb screw to secure the tool to the RH wiper arm. Ensure the thumb screw is not overtightened as marring will occur to wiper arm, and that both plastic points are resting on the windshield.

  11. Check the RH wiper arm angle and adjust as needed.

  12. Remove the wiper adjustment tool from the RH wiper arm.

  13. Install the RH passenger side wiper blade. See Wiper Blades - Pair (Remove and Replace).
  14. On the touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Wiper Service Mode.
  15. Raise the LH front window.
  16. Close the LH front door.
