Front Door Drive Unit - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Release the bolts (x4) that attach the LH front door module to the LH front door.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Remove the bolts enough to lower the LH door module to gain access to the door mirror harness.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8mm socket
  4. Connect the window switch tool to the LH front door harness, and then raise the window fully.

    Note
    Connect door panel x927 if the switch kit is not available.
  5. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  7. Disconnect the LH front door drive unit electrical connector.
  8. Remove the pivot pin bolt and nuts (x2) that attach the LH front door drive unit to the vehicle, and then remove the drive unit from the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T30 socket
    • 10mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH front door drive unit into the vehicle, and then install the pivot pin bolt and nuts (x2) that attach the drive unit to the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T30 socket
    • 10mm socket
  2. Connect the LH front door drive unit electrical connector.
  3. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  4. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the LH front door module to the LH front door.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Make sure to properly route the wiring for the LH mirror.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8mm socket
  6. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  8. In Toolbox, click the "play" button next to TEST-SELF_BCFDM_FRONT-DRV_PFD-ACTUATOR-CAL-V2via Toolbox: (link), and then click Run.

    Note
    Click the "X" at top right of the window to close once complete.
  9. Disconnect Toolbox 3 and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
  10. Raise the LH front windows and close the LH front door.
