Retirer

  1. Remove the rear license plate.
  2. Remove the screws that attach the license plate bracket to the liftgate, and then remove the bracket from the assembly.
    Tip : Nous recommandons l’utilisation des outils suivants :
    • Tournevis cruciforme PH2
  3. Open the liftgate.
  4. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  5. Remove the liftgate upper trim. See Garniture - supérieur - hayon (retirez et remplacez).
  6. Remove the liftgate lower trim. See Garniture - hayon - inférieure (retirez et remplacez).
  7. Remove the LH and RH bump stops from the lower liftgate.

    Note
    Note the number of turns to remove each bumpstop.
  8. Remove the LH and RH liftgate bumpstop and jamb nut from the liftgate.

  9. Remove the trunk liftgate latch. See Loquet - hayon (retirez et remplacez).
  10. Remove the LH and RH license plate lights. See Lumière - plaque d’immatriculation (retirez et remplacez).
  11. Disconnect the radio tuner electrical connectors.
  12. Remove the bolts that attach the radio tuner to the liftgate, and then remove the radio tuner from the liftgate.
    Tip : Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Douille longue de 10 mm
    • Clé à cliquet à tête flexible/clé dynamométrique à tête flexible
  13. Remove the LH and RH rear fog / reverse lights. See Phare antibrouillard / feu de marche arrière - arrière - gauche (retirez et remplacez).
  14. Remove the LH and RH tail lamp plugs.

  15. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the LH FM antenna amplifier.
  16. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH FM amplifier to the liftgate, and then remove the amplifier from the liftgate.

  17. Repeat steps 15and 16 for the RH FM amplifier.
  18. Disconnect the LH antenna filter electrical connector from the liftgate glass.
  19. Remove screw that attaches the LH antenna filter electrical connector to the liftgate, and then remove the antenna from the liftgate.

    • Clé à cliquet à tête flexible/clé dynamométrique à tête flexible
  20. Repeat steps 18 and 19 for the RH antenna filter.
  21. Disconnect the CHMSL electrical connector.
  22. Release the clips that attach the LH liftgate side trim bracket to the liftgate, and then remove the bracket from the liftgate.
  23. Cut the zip ties on the RH liftgate side trim bracket.
  24. Release the clips that attach the RH liftgate side trim bracket to the liftgate, and then remove the bracket from the liftgate.
  25. Remove the bolt that attaches the liftgate harness ground strap to the liftgate, and then remove the ground strap from the vehicle.

    Note
    Inspect the bolt: if it is a standard bolt (1447438-00-A), it can be reused. If it is a self-tapping tri-lobular bolt (1128269-00-A), discard and replace with the standard bolt.

  26. Release the clips that attach the liftgate harness to the liftgate.
  27. Release the grommet from the liftgate, and then feed the harness through the access hole to remove it from the liftgate.
  28. Remove the backlight glass. See Vitre - lunette arrière (retirez et remplacez).
  29. Support the liftgate with a telescoping hood prop.
  30. Place a shop towel on the LH and RH side trunk jamb.
  31. Release the liftgate power strut upper ball stud that is attached to the liftgate, and then lay the strut down on the door jamb.
  32. Release the liftgate strut assist upper ball stud that is attached to the liftgate, and then lay the strut down on the door jamb.
  33. With assistance, remove the bolts that attach the liftgate to the vehicle, and then place the liftgate on a stand.

    • 13 mm combination wrench
  34. Remove the bolts that attach the LH liftgate ball stud bracket to the liftgate, and then remove the bracket from the liftgate. Repeat this step for the RH liftgate ball stud bracket.

  1. Install the bolts that attach the LH liftgate ball stud bracket to the liftgate. Repeat this step for the RH liftgate ball stud bracket.
    11 Nm (8.1 lbs-ft)

  2. With assistance, position the liftgate onto the vehicle, and then install the bolts that attach the liftgate to the vehicle. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.

  3. Install the liftgate power strut upper ball stud to the liftgate.
  4. Install the liftgate strut assist upper ball stud to the liftgate.
  5. Remove the liftgate support from the vehicle.
  6. Route the liftgate harness through the access hole, and then install the grommet into the liftgate assembly.
  7. Install the clips that attach the liftgate harness to the liftgate.
  8. Install the bolt that attaches the liftgate harness ground strap to the liftgate.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

  9. Install the liftgate latch. See Loquet - hayon (retirez et remplacez).
  10. Close the liftgate to check gap/flush, and perform adjustments as necessary.
  11. Tighten the bolts that attach the liftgate to the vehicle.
    32 Nm (23.6 lbs-ft)

  12. Install the backlight glass. See Vitre - lunette arrière (retirez et remplacez).

  13. Install the clips that attach the RH liftgate side trim bracket to the liftgate.

  14. Install zip ties on the RH liftgate side trim bracket.
  15. Install the clips that attach the LH liftgate side trim bracket to the liftgate.
  16. Connect the CHMSL electrical connector.
  17. Install the screw that attaches the RH antenna filter electrical connector to the liftgate, and then connect the electrical connector.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)

  18. Connect the RH antenna filter electrical connector.
  19. Install the bolt that attaches the RH FM amplifier to the liftgate, and then connect the electrical connector.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)

  20. Connect the RH FM antenna amplifier electrical connectors.
  21. Repeat steps 17 and 20 for the LH side of the vehicle.
  22. Install the LH and RH tail lamp plugs.
  23. Install the LH and RH rear fog/reverse lights. See Phare antibrouillard / feu de marche arrière - arrière - gauche (retirez et remplacez).
  24. Position the radio tuner into the liftgate, and then install the bolts that attach the radio tuner to the liftgate.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

  25. Connect the radio tuner electrical connectors.
  26. Install the LH and RH license plate lights. See Lumière - plaque d’immatriculation (retirez et remplacez).
  27. Install the LH and RH liftgate bumpstops and jamb nuts onto the liftgate.
  28. Install the liftgate lower trim. See Garniture - hayon - inférieure (retirez et remplacez).
  29. Install the liftgate upper trim. See Garniture - supérieur - hayon (retirez et remplacez).
  30. Install the LH and RH bump stop onto the lower liftgate.

    Note
    Note the number of turns during removal of the bumpstop.
  31. Clean the LH and RH liftgate hinge bolts, washer and surrounding area.
  32. Apply touch up pain to the head of the LH and RH liftgate hinge bolts as necessary.
  33. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
  34. For China, Japan and Korea only: Install a new motor ID label on the liftgate assembly.
  35. Install the T-badge. See Insigne Tesla - arrière (retirez et remplacez).
  36. Install the LH and RH license plate grommets into the liftgate.

  37. Remove the screws that attach the license plate bracket to the liftgate, and then remove the bracket from the assembly.
