This procedure assumes the hood striker, hinges, bump stops, and plugs are undamaged. Inspect these components from the old hood and if necessary, replace with new parts.

Retirer

  1. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the hood.
  3. Use a telescoping hood prop to support the hood.
  4. Remove the hood striker. See Gâche - capot (retirez et remplacez).
  5. Remove the hood baffle. See Chicane - capot (retirez et remplacez).
  6. Remove the LH and RH hood bump stops.

  7. Remove the hood plugs (4x).
  8. With assistance, remove the nuts that attach the hood to the RH hood hinge.

    • Rallonge de 3 po
    • Clé à cliquet à tête flexible/clé dynamométrique à tête flexible
  9. With assistance, remove the nuts that attach the hood to the LH hood hinge, and then remove the hood from the vehicle and place on a padded surface.

    • Douille longue de 13 mm
    • Rallonge de 3 po
    • Clé à cliquet à tête flexible/clé dynamométrique à tête flexible

Installer

ATTENTION
Si vous utilisez cette procédure pour installer une pièce non peinte, assurez-vous d'appliquer un scellant sur toutes les coutures avant d'installer et de peindre la pièce. Veuillez consulter le Manuel de réparation en cas de collision conducteur pour obtenir plus d’informations.
  1. Install the hood plugs (4x) into the new hood.
  2. Install the LH and RH hood bump stops into the new hood.

  3. Install the hood baffle. See Chicane - capot (retirez et remplacez).
  4. Loosely install the hood striker. See Gâche - capot (retirez et remplacez).
  5. With assistance, install the hood onto the vehicle and align with the hood hinges.
  6. With assistance, loosely install the nuts that attach the hood to the LH hood hinge.
  7. With assistance, loosely install the nuts that attach the hood to the RH hood hinge.
  8. Carefully close the hood, and then check hood fitment.
  9. Perform gap and flush adjustments on the hood assembly, if necessary. See Alignement du capot.
  10. Open the hood, and then torque the LH and RH hinge nuts.
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)

  11. Torque the bolts that attach the hood striker to the new hood. See Gâche - capot (retirez et remplacez).
  12. Clean the LH and RH hood hinge bolts and the surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol (IPA), and then let dry for at least 1 minute.
  13. If necessary, apply touch up paint matching the vehicle's body color to the LH and RH hood hinge studs/nuts.

    Remarque
    Shake the touch paint before application. Allow for necessary dry time before closing the hood.
  14. For China, Japan and Korea only: Install a new motor ID label on the hood.
  15. Clean the front of the hood with IPA, and then install a front Tesla badge. See Insigne Tesla - avant (retirez et remplacez).
