1. Open RH front door

   

2. Lower RH front window

   

3. Fully open sliding glass
   Remarque

   Need to press "Open" twice to fully open

   

4. Remove bolts securing sliding glass to vehicle
   Remarque

   4x bolts, T25, 5 Nm, Discard patch bolts

   

5. Remove sliding glass from vehicle
   Remarque

   Recommend assistance

   

6. Gently lift up the rear section of RH side roof applique to release clips and remove RH roof applique
   Remarque

   6x clips, Place applique in a safe area to avoid damage

   

7. Add a mark to underside of RH applique to indicate that it has been removed
   Remarque

   The 2nd generation side applique can only be removed and reinstalled 10 times before it must be replaced due to damage to the clips, If there are already 9 or more marks on the underside of the applique, replace it

   

8. Move panoramic sliding glass front links fully forward
   Remarque

   Pull links forward with hooked pick

   

   

9. Moving panoramic slide glass rear links fully forward through MCU

   

   

10. Open glove box
    Remarque

    Release button on RH side of MCU bezel

    

11. Remove RH instrument panel lower assembly
    Remarque

    13x clips

    

    

    

12. Remove glove box lower trim
    Remarque

    6x clips

    

    

13. Remove glove box from IP carrier
    Remarque

    6x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm, 3x connectors

    

    

14. Remove RH IP side cover
    Remarque

    3x clips, 1x connector

    

    

    

15. Remove RH middle A-pillar trim

    

16. Open hood
    Remarque

    Via Controls > Front Trunk

    

    

    

    

17. Power off vehicle via UI
    Remarque

    Via Controls > Safety > Power Off

    

    

18. Remove rear underhood apron
    Remarque

    8x clips

    

    

19. Remove LH underhood apron
    Remarque

    9x clips, (*Use this step for Model S Refresh procedures)

    

    

20. Remove RH underhood apron
    Remarque

    9x clips

    

    

21. Release primary and secondary drain tubes from cabin intake duct assembly
    Remarque

    2x hoses

    

    

22. Release cabin intake duct assembly from cowl panel
    Remarque

    3x push clips

    

23. Remove cabin intake duct assembly
    Remarque

    2x clips, one on each side

    

    

24. Remove HEPA filter outlet duct
    Remarque

    Lift up, Pull towards front of vehicle, Then rotate clockwise

    

    

25. Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
    Remarque

    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

    

26. Remove bolts securing RH roof motor
    Remarque

    3x patch bolts, T25, 5 Nm, Discard after removal

    

27. Separate RH roof motor from motor block

    

28. Remove RH stop screw
    Remarque

    1x screw, T30, 6.5 Nm, 1x stop bracket

    

29. Remove RH rear link
    Remarque

    Pull link rearward, You may need to use a bigger hook and pull more aggressively

    

    

30. Remove RH panoramic roof drive cable
    Remarque

    Cable my get stuck where stop screw was installed, Apply good amount of force to remove

    

    

31. Install RH panoramic roof drive cable
    Remarque

    Leave enough slack to install link

    

    

32. Install RH rear link
    Remarque

    Connect cable to link

    

    

33. Install RH stop screw
    Remarque

    1x screw, T30, 6 Nm

    

34. Position RH roof motor onto motor block

    

35. Install bolts securing RH roof motor onto motor block
    Remarque

    3x patch bolts, T25, 5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

    

36. Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal
    Remarque

    1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, Connect First Responder Loop first

    

37. Install HEPA filter outlet duct

    

    

38. Install cabin intake duct assembly
    Remarque

    2x tabs, One on each side

    

    

39. Install cabin intake duct assembly to cowl panel
    Remarque

    3x push clips

    

40. Install primary and secondary drain tubes to cabin intake duct assembly
    Remarque

    2x hoses

    

    

41. Install LH underhood apron
    Remarque

    9x clips

    

    

42. Install RH underhood apron
    Remarque

    9x clips

    

    

43. Install rear underhood apron
    Remarque

    8x clips

    

    

44. Close hood
    Remarque

    Press firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

    

    

    

    

45. Install glove box into vehicle
    Remarque

    3x connectors, 6x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm

    

    

46. Install RH instrument panel lower assembly
    Remarque

    13x clips

    

    

47. Install lower glove box trim panel
    Remarque

    6x clips, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to installation

    

48. Install RH lower A-pillar trim
    Remarque

    4x clips, The number of clips securing the a pillar sill trim varies depending on vehicle production date, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing sill trim

    

    

    

49. Install RH IP side cover
    Remarque

    3x clips, 1x connector

    

    

50. Move panoramic rear links into original position

    

51. Move panoramic front links into original position
    Remarque

    2x links

    

    

52. Place sliding glass into position on vehicle
    Remarque

53. Install bolts securing sliding glass to vehicle
    Remarque

    4x bolts, T25, 5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

    

54. Connect laptop to vehicle with a tethered Ethernet connection via Toolbox 3
    Remarque

    1x connector, 2x clips, Newer models will access connector below MCU with cubby removed, Older models will access port at LH side of IP with end cap removedOpen Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to vehicle: https://toolbox.teslamotors.com, Select connection status icon at top right corner and select Connect Locally (icon will turn green when vehicle is connected), Local connection will enable service mode plus on display

    

    

    

55. Select ‘Actions’ tab and search for ‘Calibrate Sunroof’

    

56. Select ‘Calibrate sunroof’, click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete

    Roof will fully close, then fully open

    

    

57. Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and install cubby under MCU
    Remarque

    1x connector, 2x clips, Ensure diagnostic cables are tucked into appropriate position then engage cubby

    

    

58. Operate sliding glass and verify that glass does not shudder while opening or closing

    

    

    

59. Raise RH front window

    

60. Close RH front door
