1. Raise and support vehicle
   Remarque

   Prepare to raise vehicle, Set air suspension to "Jack Mode", Position lift arm pads on vehicle jack pads

   

   

   

2. Open LH front door

   

3. Lower LH front window

   

4. Open hood
   Remarque

   Via Controls > Front Trunk

   

   

   

   

5. Remove rear underhood apron
   Remarque

   8x clips

   

   

6. Remove LH underhood apron
   Remarque

   9x clips, (*Use this step for Model S Refresh procedures)

   

   

7. Remove RH underhood apron
   Remarque

   9x clips

   

   

8. Remove front underhood apron
   Remarque

   7x clips

   

   

9. Release primary and secondary drain tubes from cabin intake duct assembly
   Remarque

   2x hoses

   

   

10. Release cabin intake duct assembly from cowl panel
    Remarque

    3x push clips

    

11. Remove cabin intake duct assembly
    Remarque

    2x clips, one on each side

    

    

12. Remove HEPA filter outlet duct
    Remarque

    Lift up, Pull towards front of vehicle, Then rotate clockwise

    

    

13. Power off vehicle via UI
    Remarque

    Via Controls > Safety > Power Off

    

    

14. Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
    Remarque

    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

    

15. Remove underhood storage carpet
    Remarque

    2x connectors, Release edge of carpet from underneath underhood storage unit seal, Disconnect light and release switch connectors

    

16. Release underhood storage unit
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, 2x push clips

    

17. Remove underhood storage unit
    Remarque

    1x grommet, Lift the underhood storage unit appropriately to access the grommet and push grommet through underhood storage

    

    

    

18. Disconnect front fascia harness
    Remarque

    2x connectors

    

19. Release edge clip that secures fascia harness to RH active shutter
    Remarque

    1x edge clip

    

20. Remove bolts securing fascia bracket to carrier
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm

    

21. Remove screw securing front fascia to LH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

22. Remove screw securing front fascia to RH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

23. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to the side if both locks are not engaged

    

    

24. Release front aero shield
    Remarque

    10x push clips

    

25. Remove front aero shield
    Remarque

    12x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm

    

26. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

    

    

    

27. Release fascia from fender brackets and pull forward to remove from vehicle
    Remarque

    Set fascia on protected surface, Recommend assistance

    

    

    

28. Remove ankle catcher from front end carrier
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Discard after removal

    

    

    

29. Release the LH tabs securing the front ducting to front end ducting assembly
    Remarque

    2x tabs

    

30. Release the RH tabs securing the front ducting to front end ducting assembly
    Remarque

    2x tabs

    

31. Release top and bottom tabs securing front ducting to front end ducting assembly and remove from vehicle
    Remarque

    12x tabs, Carefully release the tabs and remove front end ducting from vehicle

    

    

32. Install coolant hose clamp on RH radiator hose

    

33. Install coolant hose clamp on LH radiator hose

    

34. Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks
    Remarque

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to side

    

    

35. Place coolant drain below RH side of radiator

    

36. Release RH coolant hose from radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

37. Place coolant drain below LH side of radiator

    

38. Release LH coolant hose from radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

39. Remove radiator from front end ducting assembly
    Remarque

    4x tabs, release radiator from support brackets on front end ducting assembly

    

    

40. Clean debris from radiator
    Remarque

    Vacuum both sides of radiator, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

41. Clean radiator with compressed air
    Remarque

    Clean both sides of radiator with compressed air, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

    

42. Install radiator onto front end ducting assembly
    Remarque

    4x tabs, Position radiator onto support brackets located on front end ducting assembly

    

    

43. Install LH coolant hose onto radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

44. Install RH coolant hose onto radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

45. Release coolant hose clamps from coolant hose

    

    

46. Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle

    

47. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

    

    

    

48. Install front ducting onto front end ducting assembly
    Remarque

    16x tabs, Carefully secure front duct to onto front end ducting assembly

    

    

    

    

49. Install ankle catcher onto front end carrier assembly
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Install new bolts

    

    

    

50. Place front fascia onto vehicle and secure fascia to fender brackets
    Remarque

    Recommend Assistance, Route fascia harness while installing, Align guide tabs to aeroshield then secure to fender brackets

    

    

51. Secure fascia harness clip onto RH active shutter
    Remarque

    1x edge clip

    

52. Connect front fascia harness
    Remarque

    2x connectors

    

53. Install screw securing fascia to LH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

54. Install screw securing fascia to RH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

55. Install bolts securing LH and RH side of fascia to carrier
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm

    

56. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

    

    

57. Position front aero shield to vehicle
    Remarque

    10x clips

    

58. Position front aero shield to vehicle
    Remarque

    10x clips

    

59. Install and tighten bolts securing front aero shield to vehicle
    Remarque

    12x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm

    

60. Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
    Remarque

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

    

    

    

61. Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal
    Remarque

    1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, Connect First Responder Loop first

    

62. Remove coolant bottle cap
    Remarque

    1x cap, Turn counter-clockwise to remove cap

    

63. Connect laptop to vehicle with a tethered Ethernet connection via Toolbox 3
    Remarque

    1x connector, 2x clips, Newer models will access connector below MCU with cubby removed, Older models will access port at LH side of IP with end cap removed. Open Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to vehicle, Select connection status icon at top right corner and select Connect Locally (icon will turn green when vehicle is connected), Local connection will enable service mode plus on display

    

    

    

64. Start coolant air purge in Toolbox 3
    Remarque

    In Toolbox 3 go to Actions and search for Coolant Air Purge click PROC_THC_X_COOLANT-AIR-PURGE and click 'RUN'

    

    

65. Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and install cubby under MCU
    Remarque

    1x connector, 2x clips, Ensure diagnostic cables are tucked into appropriate position then engage cubby

    

    

66. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
    Remarque

    Ensure that fluid level is at Max line

    

    

67. Install coolant bottle cap
    Remarque

    1x cap

    

68. Position underhood storage unit
    Remarque

    1x grommet, Lift the underhood storage unit appropriately to access the grommet and feed harness grommet through underhood storage unit

    

    

    

69. Install bolts and clips securing underhood storage unit
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, 2x push clips

    

70. Install underhood storage carpet and reconnect light and release switch connectors
    Remarque

    2x connectors, Secure edges of carpet underneath underhood storage unit seal

    

71. Install HEPA filter outlet duct

    

    

72. Install cabin intake duct assembly
    Remarque

    2x tabs, One on each side

    

    

73. Install cabin intake duct assembly to cowl panel
    Remarque

    3x push clips

    

74. Install primary and secondary drain tubes to cabin intake duct assembly
    Remarque

    2x hoses

    

    

75. Install front underhood apron
    Remarque

    7x clips

    

    

76. Install LH underhood apron
    Remarque

    9x clips

    

    

77. Install RH underhood apron
    Remarque

    9x clips

    

    

78. Install rear underhood apron
    Remarque

    8x clips

    

    

79. Close hood
    Remarque

    Press firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

    

    

    

    

80. Remove vehicle from lift
    Remarque

    Lower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode" via Controls > Service > '' JACK MODE''

    

    

81. Raise LH front window

    

82. Close LH front door
