1. Open LH front door

   

2. Move LH front seat backward

   

3. Open hood
   Remarque

   Via Controls > Front Trunk

   

   

4. Power off vehicle via UI
   Remarque

   Via Controls > Safety > Power Off

   

   

5. Remove rear underhood apron
   Remarque

   8x clips

   

   

6. Remove LH underhood apron
   Remarque

   9x clips

   

   

7. Remove RH underhood apron
   Remarque

   9x clips

   

   

8. Release drainage hoses from HEPA filter inlet duct
   Remarque

   2x hoses

   

   

9. Remove clips securing HEPA filter inlet duct to cowl panel
   Remarque

   3x push clips

   

10. Remove HEPA filter inlet duct
    Remarque

    2x clips on HEPA filter

    

    

11. Remove HEPA filter outlet duct from vehicle
    Remarque

    Lift up, pull towards front of vehicle, then rotate clockwise

    

    

12. Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
    Remarque

    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

    

13. Remove LH IP side cover
    Remarque

    4x clips, 1x connector

    

    

    

14. Remove LH lower IP trim
    Remarque

    1x screw, T20, 2 Nm, 9x clips

    

    

15. Remove LH floor mat
    Remarque

    4x velcro pads

    

16. Partially remove LH center console side panel
    Remarque

    3x clips

    

17. Remove LH center console closeout extension
    Remarque

    6x clips

    

    

18. Remove LH footwell cover
    Remarque

    2x screws, T20, 2 Nm, 1x connector

    

    

19. Remove LH middle A-pillar trim
    Remarque

    2x clips

    

20. Remove LH lower A-pillar trim
    Remarque

    4x clips, The number of clips securing the trim varies depending on vehicle production date, Replace any damaged or missing clips prior to re-installing sill trim

    

    

    

21. Disconnect premium amplifier if equipped
    Remarque

    1x connector, Applies only to vehicle equipped with premium audio

    

    

22. Remove OBD II connector from tuner bracket
    Remarque

    2x screws, T20, 2.3 Nm

    

    

23. Remove bolts securing tuner bracket to IP
    Remarque

    3x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, 2 are accessible from bottom, 1 is accessible from front

    

    

    

    

24. Disconnect tuner and move harness for clearance
    Remarque

    2x connectors, 1x Tree clip

    

25. Release harness bracket clip to dash brace then remove the amp/tuner bracket assembly out through the bottom of IP the carrier
    Remarque

    1x edge clip *Rotate tuner at different angles to ease removal, use caution not to damage brake switch or wiring harnesses

    

26. Remove tuner from bracket
    Remarque

    3x Bolts, T25, 4 Nm*Make note of orientation in bracket and discard bolts

    

    

27. Install new tuner onto bracket
    Remarque

    3x bolts, T25, 4 Nm, Install new patch bolts

    

28. Make connections at tuner
    Remarque

    2x connectors

    

29. Install amp/tuner bracket assembly back into IP
    Remarque

    Make sure tab is above the IP otherwise there will be a large gap near bulkhead

    

30. Install bolts securing tuner bracket
    Remarque

    3x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm

    

    

31. Connect the premium amplifier if equipped
    Remarque

    1x connector, Fully seat connector, then engage locking tab

    

32. Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal
    Remarque

    1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, Connect First Responder Loop first

    

33. Connect vehicle to WiFi connection
    Remarque

    Connect vehicle to WiFi or Tesla WiFi if available, Maintain WiFi connection for profile functions and firmware download

    

34. Place vehicle in service mode with touchscreen
    Remarque

    Pre-FW 2020.48.25 hold Tesla "T" icon at top of center display for four seconds and then type "service" into Access Code box, Post-FW 2020.48.25 The Tesla T has been removed from the top bar of the UI, Press and hold for 2sec the vehicle's badge icon in Controls > Software for Access Code box

    

    

    

    

35. Select "Software Reinstall"

36. Request partial software reinstall from touchscreen

    Press a car icon on touchscreen => Service Mode => Software Reinstall => Partial => Request, Vehicle will send a request to Tesla server for reinstallation of current firmware, Yellow clock installation icon should appear within 1 hour

    

    

    

    

37. Perform firmware update

    Controls or yellow clock installation icon > Software Update > Install now, Tap center display next to software update window until clock runs down to 0, After displayed installation time, Check center display and ensure the firmware package was successfully installed

    

    

    

38. Exit Service Mode

39. Install OBD II male side to bracket

40. Install LH footwell cover

44. Fully seat LH center console side panel

46. Install LH IP side cover

47. Move LH front seat to original position

    

48. Install HEPA filter outlet duct

    

    

49. Install HEPA filter inlet duct

50. Install clips securing HEPA filter inlet duct to cowl panel

51. Secure drainage hoses to HEPA filter inlet duct

52. Install RH underhood apron

55. Close hood

56. Raise LH front window and close door
