  • 2026-08-27: Released new procedure.
Anmerkung

Vehicle ride quality and handling are maximized when all 4 tires are the same age, model, and tread depth. Rotating tires regularly allows them to wear at the same rate and increases the service life. Tesla recommends tire rotation every 6,250 miles (10,000 km) or if tread depth difference is 2/32 in (1.5mm) or greater, whichever comes first.

Anmerkung
Tesla recommends replacing tires in pairs unless the other tires are within 2/32 in (1.5 mm) of tread depth of the new tire.
Anmerkung
If only 2 new tires are installed, the new tires must be installed on the rear of the vehicle. In wet conditions, the tires that have less tread have less traction than the new tires. Reduced traction at the front of the vehicle leads to understeer, which most drivers are better able to react to than the oversteer that would result if the worn tires were on the rear of the vehicle.
Anmerkung
Tesla recommends replacing a tire if any of the tread depths are 4/32 in (3 mm) or less.
Anmerkung
Model Y is pictured, but this procedure can be performed on .
