1. Inspect the vehicle for abnormal tire wear that might indicate the need for a wheel alignment, and note any findings.
2. Put the vehicle on a 2-post lift.
3. Open all doors and lower all four windows.
4. Move the front seats forward.

   

   

5. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Déverrouillage de passerelle.

   via Service Mode Plus: Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Start Fluid Fill/Drain
7. Disconnect LV power. See LV Battery - Li-lon (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
8. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
9. Perform Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure (Test/Adjust).
10. Set the steering wheel straight ahead.
11. Using the steering wheel holder, lock the steering wheel into position.

    

12. Remove bolt securing steering column to steering gear assembly
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 13mm, 18 Nm, Discard fastener after removal

    

13. Disconnect steering column from steering gear assembly
    Remarque

    Slide steering column upward from steering gear assembly to disconnect

    

    

14. Release connection for FDU front subframe harness
    Remarque

    1x locking connector, Release the grey locking tab then press on the tab to release the connector

    

    

    

15. Disconnect steering gear assembly connectors
    Remarque

    4x connectors, Release locking tabs

    

    

16. Remove the LH and RH front wheels. See Ensemble de roue (retrait et installation).
17. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia - Front (Remove and Replace).
    
18. Remove push clips securing lower rear edge of RH front wheel liner to vehicle for access to coolant hose

19. Remove the front skid plate. See Skid Plate - HV Battery - Front (Remove and Replace).
20. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves
    Remarque

    Make sure to wear electrical protective gloves any time Hioki tester is used

    

21. Remove bolt securing FDU HV harness to FDU
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm

    

22. Disconnect FDU HV harness connector
    Remarque

    1x clip, Release locking tab and rotate the release lever up to disengage the connector, Do not force the release lever up, Ensure the alignment tabs on the FDU header are not damaged

    

    

23. Remove HV insulating gloves

    

24. Remove bolt securing FDU ground strap to FDU
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm

    

25. Release FDU ground strap harness clip from FDU
    Remarque

    1x clip

    

26. Position coolant drain container underneath RH front of HV battery

    

27. Disconnect PT return tube from FDU inverter inlet hose
    Remarque

    1x spring clip, 2x plugs, Plug hose end and fluid coupling

    

    

28. Position coolant drain underneath RH front of FDU

    

29. Release FDU powertrain return hose from heat exchanger
    Remarque

    1x spring clip, 2x plugs, Plug both ends to avoid coolant loss

    

    

30. Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle

    

31. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

    

    

    

32. Release bolt securing LH front brake hose bracket to knuckle
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 10mm, 5 Nm

    

33. Release bolt securing LH front wheel speed sensor to knuckle
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T30, 5 Nm

    

34. Release LH front wheel speed sensor harness from knuckle
    Remarque

    2x clips，Sensor removed to one side

    

    

    

35. Remove LH front brake caliper from knuckle
    Remarque

    2x bolts, E18, 94 Nm, Discard fasteners after removal, Hang caliper off to the side with S-hook

    

    

36. Remove nut securing front stabar end link to LH front strut and separate
    Remarque

    1x nyloc nut, 18mm, 98 Nm, Counter hold ball joint with T40, Discard fastener after removal, Separate end link from the strut, If required a pry bar can be used to relieve tension

    

    

    

37. Remove nut and bolt securing LH front upper control arm to knuckle
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T50, 1x nyloc nut, 15mm, 56 Nm, Discard nut after removal, Release nut and compress ball joint downwards to release bolt

    

    

    

38. Remove bolt and nut securing LH strut to lower fore link
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 21mm, 1x nut, 21mm, 106 Nm

    

    

39. Release bolt securing RH front brake hose bracket to knuckle
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 10mm, 5 Nm

    

40. Release bolt securing RH front wheel speed sensor to knuckle
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T30, 5 Nm

    

41. Release RH front wheel speed sensor harness from knuckle and move aside
    Remarque

    2x harness clips

    

    

    

42. Release RH front brake caliper from RH front knuckle
    Remarque

    2x bolts, E18, 94 Nm, Discard fasteners after removal, Hang caliper off to the side with S-hook

    

    

43. Release nut securing front stabar end link to RH front strut and separate
    Remarque

    1x nyloc nut, 18mm, 98 Nm, Counter hold ball joint with T40, Discard fastener after removal, Separate end link from the strut

    

    

    

44. Release nut and bolt securing RH front upper control arm to knuckle
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T50, 1x nyloc nut, 15mm, 56 Nm, Discard nut after removal, Release nut and compress ball joint downwards to release bolt

    

    

45. Release nut and bolt securing RH strut to RH front lower lateral link
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 21mm, 1x nut, 21mm, 106 Nm

    

46. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side, Verify doors are clear of surrounding objects

    

    

47. Remove underbody deflector assembly from front subframe
    Remarque

    2x nyloc nuts, 15mm, 35 Nm, Discard after removal

    

    

48. Remove LH nuts securing front stabar to front subframe
    Remarque

    2x nyloc nuts, 15mm, 35 Nm, Discard after removal, Recommend assistance

    

49. Remove RH nuts securing front stabar to front subframe and remove from vehicle
    Remarque

    2x nyloc nuts, 15mm, 35 Nm, Discard after removal, Recommend assistance

    

    

50. Position powertrain subframe lift underneath front of vehicle

    

51. Connect air supply to subframe lifting tool

    

52. Raise powertrain table and subframe fixture into position
    Remarque

    2x subframe datums, 1x FDU datum, Raise fixture until the front subframe is fully supported, Line up the two subframe datums and support arms, Continue to line up the FDU datum and FDU support arm, Raise and adjust arms as needed,

    

    

    

    

53. Fully secure straps from fixture onto front subframe

    

    

    

54. Remove bolts securing front end carrier to LH front subframe crash can assembly

55. Remove bolts securing front end carrier to RH front subframe crash can assembly

56. Remove bolt securing RH motor mount to RH motor mount bracket

57. Remove bolt securing LH motor mount to LH motor mount bracket

58. Remove bolts securing front subframe mid mounts to body

    2x bolts, 15mm, 50 Nm, Discard after removal

    

    

59. Remove bolts securing front portion of front subframe to body

    2x bolts, 18mm, 72 Nm, Discard after removal

    

    

60. Remove smaller bolts securing rear portion of front subframe to body
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 15mm, 50 Nm, Discard after removal

    

    

61. Remove larger bolts securing rear portion of front subframe to body

    2x bolts, 21mm, 125 Nm, Discard after removal

    

    

62. Lower front subframe assembly and front unit assembly from vehicle
    Remarque

    Keep an eye out for any components that could get caught while lowering

    

    

    

63. Disconnect air supply from subframe lifting tool

    

64. Remove subframe lifting tool from under vehicle

    

    

65. Position fluid catcher under subframe and fixture assembly
    Remarque

    Position to catch all coolant loss, Use a foldable funnel as required for the next steps

    

66. Remove FDU inverter inlet hose clip from front subframe
    Remarque

    1x clip

    

67. Disconnect FDU inverter logic connector
    Remarque

    1x connector, Release locking tab then push handle downward

    

    

68. Release the FDU harness clips from the inverter housing
    Remarque

    2x clips

    

    

69. Release FDU resolver connection
    Remarque

    1x locking connector, Release red locking tab and then release connection

    

70. Release FDU harness clip from by resolver housing
    Remarque

    1x clip

    

71. Disconnect oil pump connector from oil pump

    1x connector, Pull red locking tab to release

    

72. Separate LH half shaft from FDU using the cable removal kit

74. Position the front subframe assembly under gantry

    2x bolts, 135Nm ,Confirm if bolts with nylon, If the bolts are without nylon, discard after removal

    

86. Remove LH suspension assembly
    Remarque

    Protect the inner shaft of the halfshaft, Avoid dirt and stains, Recommended assistant assistance

    

    

87. Place jack to under RH suspension assembly
    Remarque

    Avoid RH suspension assembly falling

    

88. Remove nut securing the RH front tie rod end to RH front knuckle
    Remarque

    1x nyloc nut, 22mm, 180 Nm, Discard after removal

    

89. Remove RH front tie rod end from RH front knuckle
    Remarque

    Move rotor back and forth to help ease removal

    

90. Remove bolt and nut securing RH front lower comp link assembly to front subframe
    Remarque

    1x bolt, 21mm, 1x nut, 21mm, 115 Nm

    

    

91. Remove bolts securing RH front lower lateral link to front subframe
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 135Nm ,Confirm if bolts with nylon, If the bolts are without nylon, discard after removal

110. Install bolt and nut securing RH front lower comp link assembly to front subframe
     Remarque

     1x bolt, 21mm, 1x nut, 21mm, 115 Nm, Recommend assistance if necessary

     

111. Remove jack from under RH suspension assembly

     

112. Install LH suspension assembly to front subframe
     Remarque

     Align compliance link to install position, Recommend assistance if necessary

     

     

     

113. Loosely install bolts securing LH front lower lateral link to front subframe
     Remarque

     2x bolts, 21mm, 135Nm , Recommen d assistance if necessary, Use punch tool to align the fasteners, Install only bolt PN 1109912-00-B (China 1109912-99-B) or newer, which has patch material on the bolt threads.

     

114. Install bolt and nut securing LH front lower comp link assembly to front subframe

     1x bolt, 21mm, 1x nut, 21mm, 115 Nm, Recommend assistance if necessary

     

115. Remove jack from under LH suspension assembly

     

116. Position RH front tie rod end to RH front knuckle

     

117. Install nut securing RH front tie rod end to RH front knuckle

118. Position LH tie rod outer assembly to LH front knuckle

122. Position and align the RH half shaft axle splines into the FDU

     Correctly position the axle splines into the drive unit, Take time to make sure they are seated together correctly, Do not force them together in a way they are not meant to mate, See images for reference

161. Install FDU powertrain return hose to heat exchanger

     1x spring clip, 1x plug, Perform push-pull-push test to make sure hose is fully engaged, Installing this portion of the hose first will eliminate coolant loss when making connection to the supermanifold

     

     

162. Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle

205. Connect FDU front subframe harness

207. Connect steering column to steering gear assembly

     Slide steering column downward to install steering gear assembly, Ensure the intermediate shaft is aligned and fully seated

     

     

208. Install bolt securing steering column to steering gear assembly

     1x bolt, 13mm, 18 Nm, Install new bolt

     

209. Install the underhood storage unit. See #GUID-4FBD5199-27DF-4D9D-A193-1901CE127862.
210. Perform a coolant system vacuum refill. See Cooling System - Vacuum Refill (Test/Adjust).
211. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
212. Connect first responder loop and LV battery
     Remarque

     2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

     

     

     

213. Remove the steering wheel holder.

     

214. Remove the steering wheel level from vehicle

     

215. Move RH front seat to original position

     

216. Move LH front seat to original position
