  1. Prepare the vehicle for raising. See Soulever le véhicule - pont élévateur à 2 poteaux.

    Set air suspension to "Jack Mode".
  2. Open the LH front door and lower the window.
  3. Release the parking brake. See Étrier de frein de stationnement – dégagement.
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Tablier sous le capot - arrière (retirez et remplacez).
  5. Place absorbent material underneath the brake reservoir area.
  6. Clean area around the brake fluid reservoir and remove the brake reservoir cap.
  7. Remove both rear wheels. See Ensemble de roue (retrait et installation).
  8. Release the LH rear brake hose from the LH rear lower aft link.
  9. Remove and discard the LH rear brake pad retaining pins.
  10. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear brake caliper to the knuckle.
  11. Remove the brake pads from the LH rear caliper.
  12. Push the pistons fully back into the LH rear brake caliper.
  13. Clean the LH rear brake caliper.

    Remarque
    If necessary, only use a nylon brush.
  14. Remove the abutment pads (x2) from the LH rear brake caliper.
  15. Clean the abutment pads area on the LH rear brake caliper.

    Use IPA wipe to clean the area, allow 1 minute dry time.
  16. Install new abutment pads (x2) to the LH rear brake caliper.

    Remarque
    Peel off the backing and install the pads with approximately 1 mm distance to the edge. Make sure the double sided tape mates onto the caliper.
  17. Apply tape on the friction surface of the new rear brake pads.
  18. Verify the position of the pads

    Note the position on the side of the pad. Position is described on the S/N of the floating clip-on shims of the pad and ending with "L" or "R". This step required due to removal of the floating clip-on shims in a later step
  19. Drill out the rear brake pad clips.

    Remarque
    Drill the clips out with a 7 mm or 8 mm drill bit. Pay Attention to only drill the rivet till the head breaks free. Do not drill into the pad. Make sure to wear proper PPE.
  20. Clean debris off the rear brake pads.
  21. Remove and discard the floating clip-on shims from the rear brake pads.
  22. Remove the tape from the rear brake pads.

    Clear any possible debris away with a blow gun.
  23. Clean the rear brake pads

    Clean the back side of the pads with IPA, allow 1 minute dry time.
  24. Install Sticky Shim Kit onto the rear brake pads.

    Peel off the backing prior the installation. Center out the inner part of the pad and the rivets. Make sure that the double sided tape mates onto the brake pads.
  25. Position the rear brake pads into the LH rear brake caliper.

    Fold the tips of the backing. Ensure correct orientation of the pads (LH and RH). Verify correct orientation of the pads by alignment of the rivets to the piston. Do not fully press, do not apply any lubricant.
  26. Install the LH rear brake pad retaining pins.

    Install new pins. Do not apply any lubricant.
  27. Install the rear brake pads to the LH rear brake caliper.

    Peel off the backing. Verify that the Sticky Shim has not moved from the pads and push the pads into pistons. Verify flush attachment of the pad to the pistons (wrong pad orientation may cause contact of the rivet to the piston).
  28. Install the bolts that attach the LH rear brake caliper to the LH rear knuckle.
    135 Nm (99.6 lbs-ft)

    Take care not to damage the brake disk!
  29. Install the bolt that attaches the LH rear brake hose to the LH rear lower aft link.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
  30. Install the LH rear wheel.

    Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool.
  31. Repeat steps 8 to 30 on the rear RH side of the vehicle.
  32. Torque the LH and RH rear wheel nuts.
    175 Nm (129.1 lbs-ft)
  33. Install the LH and RH rear arachnid lug nut covers.

    Remarque
    Align the cap with the valve stem.
  34. Pump the brake pedal a few times to ensure pedal feels normal.
  35. Check the brake fluid level and top off the reservoir as necessary.
  36. Install the brake reservoir cap.
  37. Remove the absorbent material from underneath the brake reservoir area.
  38. Install the rear underhood apron. See Tablier sous le capot - arrière (retirez et remplacez).
  39. Hold the brake pedal and select Park on the touchscreen to disable EPB service mode.
  40. Exit Service Mode. See Mode entretien (activer et désactiver).
  41. Burnish the brakes and verify proper brake pedal feel and performance.
