1. Open LH front door

   

2. Lower LH front window

   

3. Place vehicle in service mode via UI
   Remarque

   Via Controls > Software, Touch and hold "Model" for 2 seconds then release, Use screen keyboard to type "service" into dialog box and select OK button

   

   

   

4. Press brake pedal to turn on drive rails

   

5. Set air suspension ride height to “Very High”
   Remarque

   Using center display > Controls > Suspension > ''Very High''

   

6. Turn wheel fully to the right

   

7. Open hood
   Remarque

   Select Controls > Frunk Open

   

   

8. Remove rear underhood apron
   Remarque

   8x clips

   

   

9. Remove LH underhood apron
   Remarque

   10x clips

   

   

10. Remove RH underhood apron
    Remarque

    10x clips

    

    

11. Remove front underhood apron
    Remarque

    7x clips

    

    

12. Remove frunk access panel
    Remarque

    3x clips, 3x hooks, 1x connector

    

    

13. Remove frunk carpet

    

    

14. Remove frunk assembly
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm

    

    

15. Remove bolts securing fascia bracket to carrier
    Remarque

    6x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm

    

16. Remove push clips securing LH front wheel arch liner to fascia and move to the side for access
    Remarque

    5x push clips, Shift bottom of liner down and flex top of liner against tire

    

    

    

17. Remove bolt securing front fascia to LH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T25, 5 Nm

    

18. Press brake pedal to turn on drive rails

    

19. Turn wheel fully to the left

    

20. Remove push clips securing RH front wheel arch liner to fascia and move to the side for access
    Remarque

    5x push clips, Shift bottom of liner down and flex top of liner against tire

    

    

    

21. Remove bolt securing front fascia to RH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T25, 5 Nm

    

22. Power off vehicle from center display
    Remarque

    Via Controls > Safety & Security > Power Off

    

23. Disconnect LV battery connector and First Responder Loop
    Remarque

    2x connectors, Lift up and release green locking tab, Pull black connector lock outwards to release connection

    

    

    

24. Disconnect front fascia harness
    Remarque

    2x connectors, Pull red tab to disengage lock then disconnect, Located behind RH wheel arch liner

    

25. Release front fascia valance from front aero shield
    Remarque

    8x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, 2x clips, 2x datums, Do not remove 3x middle bolts

    

    

26. Release fascia from fender brackets and pull forward to remove from vehicle
    Remarque

    Set fascia on protected surface, Recommend assistance

    

    

27. Remove ankle catcher
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Number of bolts may vary on new vehicles

    

    

    

    

    

28. Disconnect active grille shutter actuator connector
    Remarque

    1x locking electrical connector

    

    

29. Release ambient temperature sensor grommet from active grille shutter

    

30. Disconnect ambient temperature sensor connector and route through grommet opening in shroud
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

    

31. Release locking tabs securing active grille shutter to cooling fan module assembly and remove active grille shutter through front of vehicle
    Remarque

    12x locking tabs, 2x clips

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

32. Remove plastic grille from the radiator
    Remarque

    9x locking tabs

    

    

    

33. Use shop-vac to clean dirt on the radiator
    Remarque

    If necessary remove large debris

    

34. Use blow gun to clean dirt on the radiator again
    Remarque

    Do not get too close to the radiator blades

    

35. Install plastic grille to the radiator
    Remarque

    9x locking tabs

    

    

    

36. Install active grille shutter to cooling fan module assembly
    Remarque

    12x locking tabs, 2x clips, Align datums before engaging tabs, Make sure shutter slides inside tab not outside

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

37. Route ambient temperature sensor connector through grommet opening in shroud and install connector
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

    

38. Secure ambient temperature sensor grommet onto active grille shutter

    

39. Install active grille shutter actuator connector
    Remarque

    1x locking electrical connector, Engage locking tab

    

40. Install ankle catcher
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 8 Nm, Number of bolts may vary on new vehicles

    

    

    

    

    

41. Install front fascia onto vehicle and secure fascia to fender brackets
    Remarque

    Recommend Assistance, Route fascia harness while installing, Verify front fascia valance sits under front aero shield before proceeding

    

    

42. Apply Loctite 222 to fasteners and secure front fascia valance to front aero shield
    Remarque

    8x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, 2x clips, 2x datums, Insert valance datums into aero shield holes, Do not remove 3x middle bolts

    

    

    

43. Connect front fascia harness
    Remarque

    2x connectors, Engage locking tab, Located behind RH wheel arch liner

    

44. Install bolt securing fascia to RH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T25, 5 Nm

    

45. Install push clips securing RH front wheel liner to fascia
    Remarque

    5x push clips

    

    

46. Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery connector
    Remarque

    2x connectors Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

    

    

    

47. Unlock Gateway
    Remarque

    Place keycard on center console to turn on drive rails, hold down the brake pedal, while pressing right turn signal button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, "GTW UNLOCKING" should pop up on the UI adjacent to VIN during these 10 seconds, once gateway is unlocked "GTW UNLOCKED 5400" will be displayed adjacent to VIN, the gateway will remain unlocked for 90 minutes, follow steps on Toolbox article #5582900 for any additional information

    

    

48. Perform Thermal Performance via Service UI

    Select Thermal > Actions > Test Thermal Performance, click Run, close once routine is completed

    

    

    

    

49. Perform HVAC Performance via Service UI
    Remarque

    Select Thermal > Actions > Test HVAC Performance, click Run, close once routine is completed

    

    

    

    

50. Exit Service mode
    Remarque

    Press and hold the Exit Service Mode button for 3 seconds

    

51. Press brake pedal to turn on drive rails

    

52. Turn wheel fully to the right

    

53. Install bolt securing fascia to LH fender bracket
    Remarque

    1x bolt, T25, 5 Nm

    

54. Install push clips securing LH front wheel liner to fascia
    Remarque

    5x push clips

    

    

55. Install bolts securing fascia bracket to carrier
    Remarque

    6x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm

    

56. Install frunk assembly
    Remarque

    4x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm

    

    

57. Install frunk carpet
    Remarque

    Verify carpet is properly seated under the seal

    

    

58. Install frunk access panel
    Remarque

    3x clips, 3x hooks, 1x connector

    

    

59. Install front underhood apron
    Remarque

    7x clips

    

    

60. Install RH underhood apron
    Remarque

    10x clips

    

    

61. Install LH underhood apron
    Remarque

    10x clips

    

    

62. Install rear underhood apron
    Remarque

    8x clips

    

    

63. Close hood
    Remarque

    Press firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

    

    

64. Press brake pedal to turn on drive rails

    

65. Turn steering wheel back to center

    

66. Raise LH front window

    

67. Close LH front door
