Retirer

  1. Move the vehicle to a 2 post lift. See Soulever le véhicule - pont élévateur à 2 poteaux.
  2. Remove mid aero shield. See Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace)
  3. Position an oil drain collector under the rear drive unit oil pump.
  4. Remove the fill plug from the oil pump.
    Conseil

  5. Remove the drain plug from the oil pump.
    Remarque
    Inspect the O-ring for damage, and if the O-ring is damaged, replace the O-ring.

  6. Pull the red tab, and then pull the red tab again to disconnect the rear subframe harness from the rear drive unit oil pump connector.
  7. Connect the power supply and oil pump switchbox to the oil pump connector.
  8. Run the oil pump for 1 minute to fully drain remaining oil from the 4DU.
    Remarque
    Oil will shoot out at a wide angle, so adjust the drain container as needed. Do NOT run the pump dry for more than 10 seconds.
  9. Disconnect the power supply and oil pump switchbox from the oil pump connector.
  10. Install the drain plug from the oil pump.
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)
    Remarque
    Inspect the O-ring for damage, and if the O-ring is damaged, replace the O-ring.

  11. Release the hose clip from the resolver cover, rotate the clip 90° counterclockwise, then move the water hose upward to create space for removing the oil pump upper bolts.
  12. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the rear drive unit oil pump to the rear drive unit.

  13. Use a plastic pry tool to separate the rear drive unit oil pump from the rear drive unit, remove the oil pump, and allow the fluid to drain.

Remplacer

  1. Apply a light coat of ATF-9 oil to the O-rings of the rear drive unit oil pump, and then wipe away any excess oil.
  2. Position the oil pump to the rear drive unit.
    Remarque
    Inspect the O-rings for damage; if damaged, replace the O-rings.
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the rear drive unit oil pump to the rear drive unit.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft) + 20 deg

  4. Rotate the clip 90° clockwise to secure it onto the resolver cover.
  5. Fill a 3000mL measuring container with 2.5L/2500mL of KAF1 gearbox fluid.
    Remarque
    The rear drive unit requires 2.3L/2300mL of fluid, however the excess fluid will prevent underfill and air entrapment.
  6. Connect the 12V power supply to the oil pump.
  7. Install the hoses onto the fluid transfer pump.
  8. Place the measuring container and the fluid transfer pump into the oil drain basket.
  9. Insert the output hose of the fluid transfer pump into the fill hole of the rear drive unit until fully seated, then pull back 5 mm.
  10. Fully submerge the input hose of the fluid transfer pump into the measuring container.
  11. Pump 2.3L/2300mL of KAF1 gearbox fluid into the rear drive unit.
    Remarque
    Recommend an assistant to perform this step; the assistant will run oil pump switchbox using XP-10 Jump Pack and have the fill plug ready for installation.
    Remarque
    Make sure the input hose end remains submerged, so that air is not pumped into the gearbox.
    Remarque
    When properly filled, there should be 200mL or less of gearbox fluid left in the measuring container.
  12. Remove the output hose from the rear drive unit.
  13. Put on face shielding PPE.
  14. Disconnect the 12V power supply tool from the oil pump.
  15. Install the fill plug from the oil pump.
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)
    Remarque
    Inspect the O-ring for damage, and if the O-ring is damaged, replace the O-ring.

  16. Connect the oil pump connector.
  17. Spray the working area of the rear drive unit with brake cleaner, and then wipe off residual fluid with a clean shop towel.
  18. Remove the oil drain collector out from under the rear drive unit.
  19. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox (connecter et déconnecter).
  20. Install mid aero shield. See Aero Shield - Rear (Remove and Replace)
  21. Reinstall vehicle software. See Réinstallation du logiciel – Écran tactile.
  22. On the laptop, select Actions tab, and search for "Oil Pump Low Pressure Test - Rear Drive Unit". Select TEST-SELF_DIR_X_OIL-PUMP-PRESSUREvia Toolbox:(link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  23. Disconnect the laptop.
  24. Exit Service Mode. See Mode Entretien.
  25. Raise LH front window and close LH front door.
  26. Remove the vehicle from the 2 post lift. See Soulever le véhicule - pont élévateur à 2 poteaux.
