2. Set up AC machine
   Remarque

   Touch time only, Connect to power, Turn power switch on

   

   

   

3. Open LH front door

   

4. Lower LH front window

   

5. Connect laptop to vehicle with a tethered Ethernet connection via Toolbox 3
   Remarque

   1x connector, 2x clips, Newer models will access connector below MCU with cubby removed, Older models will access port at LH side of IP with end cap removed. Open Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to vehicle, Select connection status icon at top right corner and select Connect Locally (icon will turn green when vehicle is connected), Local connection will enable service mode plus on display

   

   

   

6. Exécutez la routine ODIN
7. Select "Start Thermal Fluid Fill/Drain", Click Run and allow routine to complete
   Remarque

   Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete, For AC related repairs verify all EXV's are in proper position, For all coolant related repairs verify vehicle is in Series, Thermal Fluid Fill/Drain routine has a 5 hour timeout, Routine will continuously run and not end

9. Open hood

   Via center display > Controls > Front Trunk

   

   

10. Remove underhood aprons
    Remarque

    4x aprons, LH and RH aprons have 1x clip each

    

11. Remove dust caps from vehicle’s high-side and low-side service ports
    Remarque

    2x threaded caps

    

12. Connect AC hoses to vehicle

    

13. Perform refrigerant system recovery
    Remarque

    Note or print the amount of refrigerant and oil recovered, If drained oil level increased more than 1.01 oz (30 mL) refer to drained oil loss chart https://toolbox.teslamotors.com/articles/353700

    

    

    

14. Remove frunk carpet
    Remarque

    2x connectors

    

    

15. Remove frunk assembly
    Remarque

    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm

    

    

    

    

16. Remove HEPA filter housing
    Remarque

    Lift up from bottom and pull out, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration

    

    

17. Remove AC hoses from vehicle

    

18. Release vacuum from AC lines
    Remarque

    2x Schrader valves, Carefully depress the schrader valves to release vacuum from AC lines

    

    

19. Power off vehicle via UI
    Remarque

    Via center display > Controls > Safety > Power Off

    

    

20. Disconnect 12V negative terminal
    Remarque

    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm

    

21. Disconnect first responder loop
    Remarque

    1x connector, push to release

    

22. Remove LH front lug nut covers
    Remarque

    5x lug nut covers

    

23. Loosen LH front lug nuts
    Remarque

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

    

24. Remove RH front lug nut covers
    Remarque

    5x lug nut cover

    

25. Loosen RH front lug nuts
    Remarque

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

    

26. Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks
    Remarque

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

    

    

27. Remove LH front wheel
    Remarque

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

    

28. Remove RH front wheel
    Remarque

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

    

29. Remove front aero shield
    Remarque

    6x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm, 14x clips

    

30. Remove clips and pull back on LH front wheelhouse liner
    Remarque

    4x push clips

    

31. Remove clip securing LH wheel fairing
    Remarque

    1x push clip

    

32. Remove bolts securing LH wheel fairing
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm

    

33. Release clips securing front half of LH front fender garnish
    Remarque

    8x clips, Be cautious of parking sensor

    

    

34. Disconnect LH fender garnish parking sensor
    Remarque

    1x connector, Pull red tab to disengage lock

    

35. Release clips securing rear half of LH front garnish and remove from vehicle
    Remarque

    5x clips

    

    

36. Remove screw securing LH fascia to fender
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

    

37. Remove clips and pull back on RH front wheelhouse liner
    Remarque

    4x push clips

    

38. Remove clip securing RH front wheel fairing
    Remarque

    1x push clip

    

39. Remove bolts securing RH front wheel fairing
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm

    

40. Release clips securing front half of RH front fender garnish
    Remarque

    8x clips, Be cautious of park sensor

    

41. Disconnect LH parking sensor
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

42. Release clips securing rear half of RH front garnish and remove from vehicle
    Remarque

    5x clips

    

43. Remove screw securing RH fascia to fender
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

    

44. Remove bolts securing fascia to upper grill
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm

    

    

45. Remove front fascia assembly
    Remarque

    2x clips, 1x connector, Place fascia onto padded surface, Recommend assistance

    

    

46. Place fascia on padded surface
    Remarque

    Ensure the front of the fascia is facing down

    

47. Release edge clips securing active louver harness to active louver assembly
    Remarque

    2x edge clips

    

48. Disconnect active louver connector and move harness aside
    Remarque

    1x connector, Pull red tab to disengage lock, Pull again to release connector

    

    

    

49. Remove active shutter assembly from vehicle
    Remarque

    2x retaining clips

    

    

50. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

    

    

    

51. Clamp hose on LH side of radiator
    Remarque

    Ensure the hose is not clamped too close to the radiator, allow ample space to manipulate the hose clamp

    

52. Clamp hose on RH side of radiator
    Remarque

    Ensure the hose is not clamped too close to the radiator, allow ample space to manipulate the hose clamp

    

53. Position coolant drain container under LH front corner of vehicle to catch vehicle coolant

    

54. Remove radiator outlet hose from LH side of radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

55. Remove FDU outlet hose from RH side of radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

56. Remove clip securing cooling fan harness to cooling fan shroud
    Remarque

    1x fir tree clip

    

57. Disconnect cooling fan electrical connector
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

58. Remove bolts securing cooling fan shroud to support beam
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 13mm, 12 Nm

    

59. Remove upper and lower nuts securing high and low pressure pipes to condenser
    Remarque

    2x nuts, 13mm, 10 Nm (upper), 20 Nm (lower), Install new O-rings

    

60. Remove cooling fan module from vehicle
    Remarque

    Lift the rear of the module (FDU side) up and slide the assembly away from the FEM to remove

    

    

61. Remove coolant drain container from under front of vehicle

    

62. Remove active louver from fan shroud assembly
    Remarque

    12x clips, Release clips securing active louver onto fan shroud assembly

    

    

    

63. Remove radiator from fan shroud assembly
    Remarque

    2x retaining clips, Release retaining clips securing radiator onto fan shroud bracket

    

64. Clean debris from radiator
    Remarque

    Vacuum both sides of radiator, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

65. Clean radiator with compressed air
    Remarque

    Clean both sides of radiator with compressed air, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

    

66. Install radiator onto fan shroud assembly
    Remarque

    2x retaining clips, Secure radiator onto fan shroud bracket

    

67. Install active louver onto fan shroud assembly
    Remarque

    12x clips, Secure active louver onto fan shroud assembly

    

    

    

68. Install cooling fan module into vehicle
    Remarque

    Install the cooling fan module at an angle ensuring the isolators are engaged, The isolator alignment can be checked at a later step and adjusted if needed

    

    

69. Install upper and lower nuts securing high and low pressure pipes to condenser
    Remarque

    2x nuts, 13mm, 10 Nm (upper), 20 Nm (lower), Install new O-rings

    

70. Install bolts securing cooling fan module to support beam
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 13mm, 12 Nm

    

71. Connect cooling fan electrical connector
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

72. install clip securing cooling fan harness to cooling fan shroud
    Remarque

    1x fir tree clip

    

73. Install coolant hose on RH side of radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

74. Remove coolant hose clamp for RH side radiator hose

    

75. Install coolant hose on LH side of radiator
    Remarque

    1x hose clamp

    

76. Remove coolant hose clamp for LH side radiator hose

    

77. Install active shutter assembly onto vehicle
    Remarque

    2x retaining clips

    

    

78. Connect active shutter
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

79. Install edge clips securing active shutter harness to active shutter assembly

    2x edge clips

    

80. Install front fascia assembly to vehicle
    Remarque

    1x connector, Recommend assistance

    

    

81. Install bolts securing fascia to upper grill
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm

    

    

82. Install screw securing RH fascia to fender
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

83. Install rear half of RH front fender garnish
    Remarque

    5x clips

    

84. Connect RH front fender garnish parking sensor
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

85. Install front half of RH front garnish
    Remarque

    8x clips, Be cautious of parking sensor, Be sure to align fender ducts

    

86. Secure bolts for RH front wheel fairing
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm

    

87. Secure clip for RH front wheel fairing
    Remarque

    1x push clip

    

88. Fully secure RH front wheelhouse liner to fender garnish
    Remarque

    4x push clips

    

89. Install screw securing LH fascia to fender
    Remarque

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

90. Install rear half of LH front fender garnish
    Remarque

    5x clips

    

    

91. Connect RH front fender garnish parking sensor
    Remarque

    1x connector

    

92. Install front half of LH front garnish
    Remarque

    8x clips, Be cautious of parking sensor, Be sure to align fender ducts

    

    

93. Install bolts securing LH front wheel fairing to front aero shield
    Remarque

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm

    

94. Install clip securing LH front wheel fairing to front aero shield
    Remarque

    1x push clip

    

95. Fully secure LH front wheelhouse liner to fender garnish
    Remarque

    4x push clips

    

96. Install RH front wheel
    Remarque

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Thread nuts on by hand

    

97. Install LH front wheel
    Remarque

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool

    

98. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
    Remarque

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to the side if both locks are not engaged

    

    

99. Install front aero shield
    Remarque

    6x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm, 14x clips

    

100. Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
     Remarque

     Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

     

     

     

101. Torque RH front wheel
     Remarque

     5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

     

102. Install RH front lug nut covers
     Remarque

     5x covers

     

103. Torque LH front wheel
     Remarque

     5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

     

104. Install LH front lug nut covers
     Remarque

     5x covers

     

105. Connect first responder loop and then 12V negative terminal
     Remarque

     1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm

     

     

     

     

106. Remove coolant reservoir cap
     Remarque

     1x cap

     

107. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
     Remarque

     Ensure coolant is filled using G-48 coolant

     

     

108. Place vehicle in Service Mode
     Remarque

     Enter Service mode through touchscreen. Press Car icon => Go to Software tab=> Press and hold ''Model'' for 3 seconds=>In new window type ''service'' or press voice command button on steering wheel and say ''service''=>Press ''OK'' button. Car is in service mode now

     

     

     

109. Access Thermal System routines using UI

117. Install HEPA filter housing

118. Install frunk assembly

     10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, Hand start all bolts first then tighten with tools

122. Re-establish vehicle connection to Toolbox 3
