Remarque
This procedure is required when fitting a 2021+ Model X door with part number 1028790-E0-K (FALCON DOOR LOWER, LEFT HAND) or 1028791-E0-K (FALCON DOOR LOWER, RIGHT HAND) or later revisions to a 2015-2020 Model X.
Remarque
Perform this procedure before the door is treated at the body shop.
Special tools and parts required for this procedure:
  • 1126494-00-A - SET, DRILL BIT, 1-13MM
  • RIVET TOOL - 90 DEGREE PNEUMATIC BLIND RIVET TOOL
  • 1037045-00-A - RIVET NUT, M5x0.8, GRIP 0.5-3.3 (x16)

Procedure

  1. Place the lower falcon door on a stand with the inner side up.
  2. Locate the holes (x16) that need rework on the falcon door and mark them with a paint mark.
  3. Use a 7.5 mm drill bit to drill the holes (x16) to install rivet nuts on the falcon door.
  4. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the interior of the falcon door from metal shavings.
  5. Install rivet nuts (x16) to the falcon door.
